Galaxy-Seattle Scrimmage [UPDATED]

Storm Watch 2009 stretched into today and it was raining for the start of the game. All the players, except Josh Tudela, had their rain jacket on right before kickoff.
The rain wasn't the only thing to make an appearance. There were a lot of familiar faces at today's games.

Former U.S. National Team goalkeeper Kasey Keller was here.

LA Galaxy Legend Mauricio Cienfuegos, former assistant coach Ralph Perez and these guys were also here.

The match featured the debut of the Sounders, but also our new training top.

But enough of this and that. Let's get to some game photos.

After the match, we caught up with Dave Sarachan and a few of the guys. Here's what they had to say:

Omar González...

Ely Allen...

Thanks for these pics from today's scrimmage. I think the new training tops look decent. I know the guys are probably feeling down on losing the match. But, they need to be bold, brave, strong, and more tough. Work at correcting mistakes; keep learning from the coaches. Communicate with each other - never stop learning and improving. That's what separates good, solid, dependable players. Learn from the loss - keep watching the tapes and discussing on white-boards. Players can only improve and get better and better with challenging competition.

Justin,
Thanks for providing that link tot he video. I am not sure why scrimmages of this sort need to be "closed" and incognito. But, I guess, if there are trialists whose names have not been penned in and revealed to MLS as a whole - then, "mum's" the word I suppose???
I sincerely hope that the new-comers (young players) are spending the necessary time & attention going over the mistakes and correcting them. I am hoping that the coaches are spending time on that. The PPC exhibition show-case is 7 short days away. A LOT of correction, attention to positioning, plays, running on, running off, providing cover, getting back to offense... these are some of the major things that need to be taken care of. The expectation should be set for the players - they have to work hard; they have to continue practicing; and, they have to show improvement and professionalism!
