Greetings from Edmonton

We've settled into our hotel here in Edmonton following yesterday's flight up to Alberta. There was a throng of fans and media at both the airport and hotel to greet us upon our arrival,

Tonight's game will be live on KWHY-22 starting at 6 p.m.(PT) and KWKU 1220 AM. Here are a few notes about the team to hold you over until we unveil the starting XI later in the day.

Eighteen players made the journey to Edmonton. Charles Alamo (knee), Ely Allen (hamstring), Edson Buddle (hamstring), Landon Donovan (calf), Alvaro Pires (knee), Carlos Ruiz (knee), Israel Sesay and Peter Vagenas (quad) all remained in Los Angeles to work with Fitness Coach Chris Neville.

Of those 18, three will not accompany the team back to LA tonight as Michael Gavin, Bryan Jordan and Julian Valentin will each fly to France (with a few connections in between) to join up with Peter Nowak's U.S. Under-23 National Team for the Toulon International Tournament.

Here is a bit of what Gavin had to say about his call-up.

Here is a press conference that was held a couple of weeks ago at The Home Depot Center in advance of tonight's game, as well as some highlights and postgame sound from last weekend's loss to the Red Bulls.

Thanks guys for these videos. Appreciate it. Please keep 'em coming. I wish our youngsters a safe, good hourney. I hope they get some serious practice time in Toulon France. It'll be great if they get a chance to play. But, the most important thing is that they watch, listen, learn, and practice, and scrimmages a LOT!!! They have to watch and study the European players... to understand their speed, their tactics, their comfortability with the ball!

Have fun - but, practice the "heck" out of yourselves while you guys are over there!
