Sights and Sounds From Training

The team had a scrimmage during training today where the first team took on the reserves along with the Galaxy Rios U-20s. The Galaxy beat the reserves 2-0 with goals from Landon and Ely. We caught up with some of the players after the game for their thoughts on traveling to New York this weekend.

Alan on last year's game against New York

Chris on wanting the three points against New York

Edson on last year's crowd and missing the first meeting vs NY

Steve on trying to get a shutout this weekend

Hope the guys are performing to where they need to be (have to be) at this point so far in the 2008 MLS season. Very good to see Eduardo practicing with the rest of the guys - I hope he is getting comfortable with everyone and everyone getting to know him better and better. I am hoping that New York won't come out and rip us to shreds. They too desparately want a win and 3 points. I know all of the audio snippets talk about getting even... "revenge"... "high scoring affair"... Honestly, if our team can't come out strong, fast... maintaining shape, crisp passing, and thoroughly threatening opposing goal net... it'll turn the other way in a hurry. Why? Because, NY RedBulls have everything to prove in front of a very large home crowd. And, if we come out intimidated, slow, lazy, inaccurate... They're going to find the openings and holes and let it rip!!!
New York is probably not as equipped and weighted like DCU... nor as lightning fast as New England Revs... nor as creative as TFC... But, if we are on slow-mode, or tired, or lazy... or distracted.... Watch OUT!!!
