Ready for the Red Bulls

The Galaxy had their last training at the HDC before heading out to New York tomorrow morning. Both David and Ruud spoke to the media. Here's what they said.

Thanks for all of the pics from training and the audio snippets. Very good audio snippet from Ruud - I just wish there was more to hear from him... it was getting so interesting what his views and opinions are of the what the environment in and around the team should be like. To me - a coach, a director, a manager... these are individuals that have to... have to love and haved lived the sport, the games, the tournaments, and the semi-finals/finals. These "over-seers" of our team must be passionate and energized to talk, to act, to promote, and to direct the team and the organization. Without that sense of ownership and accountability - it just would be drab and dull.
From the pics many of the guys look as if they're being trained steadily and proficiently... Good!!! If any of you guys get the chance - you should really check-out how certain top teams in Central America (Honduras, Guatemala, Costa Rica) and South America (Colombia, Venezuela, Uruguay, Paraguay)... how these teams train for their Copas and Clausuras... it's intense and rigorous. I know our LA Galaxy team does not have any participation in tournaments (US Open Cup / SuperLiga / Champions League) right now... but, the intensity, the focus, the demands, the environment, the play-by-plays and reviews... they're all done to get the players to act, react, and live competition. As Ruud says - there are players who thrive and relish the tension and competition... while others cannot and can be seen shying away and hiding from it.
This year's SuperLiga games are very good to watch... Guys, keep your eyes on Chivas USA, New England Revs, and Santos Laguna... they're playing some intense, energized soccer. I absolutely love watching Santos Laguna play in this tournament... their players' energy and work-rate are amazing!
