Notes:
· With the loss, the Galaxy are now 6-7-5 on the season leaving them with 23 points. They remain tied for second place in the Western Conference with the Houston Dynamo.
· Ruud Gullit made one change to his team that drew 2-2 at New York on July 19, with Eduardo Dominguez replacing Troy Roberts in central defense.
· Roberts was originally in the starting lineup but had to be replaced following pregame warmups as a result of a right heel injury that he suffered last weekend in New York. Following Roberts’ injury, Greg Vanney was inserted into the starting lineup.
· Eduardo Dominguez made his MLS debut in the game. After being officially added to the Galaxy roster last week, Dominguez was in the starting lineup for the first time, playing in central defense.
· Sean Franklin came on at halftime, replacing Alvaro Pires. This was Franklin’s first appearance since suffering a strained right MCL prior to the 1-1 draw vs. Chivas USA on July 10.
· The three goals allowed by the Galaxy in the first half were the most allowed by the club in the first half this season. The last time the Galaxy gave up three goals in the opening 45 minutes was on August 26, 2007 in a 3-0 loss at Colorado. The Galaxy have allowed three goals in the second half of a game twice times this year.
· This is the third time this season that the Galaxy have been shutout in a regular season game, and their first time since May 31 in a 2-0 loss at Toronto FC.
· With his two goals today, Kenny Cooper became the third player to score more than one goal in a game against the Galaxy this season. Luciano Emilio of D.C. United was the first, scoring two in United’s 4-1 win on June 29 while New England’s Adam Cristman scored two in the Revolution’s 2-1 win over LA on July 4.
· The Galaxy are now winless in their last six games, going 0-3-3 over the span with losses to D.C. United, FC Dallas and New England, as well as draws with Chivas USA, Columbus and New York.
· The attendance for today’s game was 21,020.
· The Galaxy Reserves will take on the FC Dallas Reserves on Monday, July 28 at 8 a.m. (PT) at Pizza Hut Park.
· The Galaxy are back in action on Sunday, August 3, when they travel north to San Jose at McAfee Coliseum. The match will kick off at 12 p.m. (PT) and can be seen live on FSN West and Telefutura. The match will also be available live on the radio in English on AM 570 and in Spanish on KWKW 1330 ESPN Deportes.

Deplorable performance - Downright USL-II division soccer! I guess Landon and David got used to the quality of players up at the All-Star game on that smooth, brisk, flat turf at BMO. What a difference to their passes this pitch at Frisco must have been! All I can say is that if these many matches against these many much improved MLS clubs haven't taught our organization anything - then, these kind of disgraceful results are just what all Galaxy fans should expect. Playoffs - Yeah, sure... in some other galaxy, perhaps!

Okay Coach!! Take Ruiz out of the line up. Put Donovan back in his postion,as forward. What are you thinking? the team looks unhappy, fix whatever it is that is going on behind closed doors. Just looking at Donovan's Beckham's Buddle's face you can see things are not right. Do something fast before they find somewhere else to play.

I am a season ticket holder who has recently been a huge supporter from my living room as the Galaxy continues their long road trip.

Watching the game today, I had to agree with the announcers. What is Ruiz doing? Why was he endlessly running up and down the field? And most importantly, where is the superstar Ruiz- the one that scores?

Dear Galaxy coaching- let's cut our losses, trade Ruiz and develop the big D!!!

On a positive note- no matter what game, no matter what result, no matter what the weather, or the field conditions, or, or, or .... my fav #7- Chris Klein shows up, puts forth the effort of 10 (younger) men and plays like the MLS cup was on the line. I love the Klein/Beckham duo at work! Galaxy - please stay on top, take a deep breath and do what you do best----- SCORE!!
(Meantime, hopefully our big D will step up and help our young goalie - 7 saves is nothing to sneeze at Steve.) Glad to see Franklin is healthy. He can make the difference in the back too.

It's a new game, every game... but ya gotta love the Galaxy. They're all my stars!! Now let's align.

I just wanted to let you know that Peter Nowak (US Men's Coach) for Beijing 2008 Olympics has already picked his squad. Here's the link/address:

I do agree with you. In today's game against FC Dallas, Carlos Ruiz was allowed to play a full 90 minutes. Clearly, it is obvious to many who watched this match - that Carlos's form (of glorious years past in 2002 & 2003) is just NOT there anymore. MLS in 2008 is much more FAST, AGGRESSIVE, QUICK ONE-TWO step types of games. Even with David & Landon providing balls from midfield - Carlos is just not able to get past most other MLS defenses. And, it is clearly apparent - that our defense still needs a LOT of attention and fixing. Honestly, and truly - I seriously did not understand why Greg Vanney was placed in Central Defense??? I'm sorry - but, he cannot play in this fast-paced league anymore. Eduardo Dominguez (our new Argentinan Central Defender) got the first taste of how FAST & AGGRESSIVE our MLS games are! Eduardo's positioning (I thought) is correct and good. His passes & distribution is excellent. But, he took a few seconnds too long to get the ball back into play routing it to Midfield. And, if one takes too long in front of lightning fast FC Dallas players like Kenny Cooper, Dominic Oduro, and Andre Rocha - they will steal the ball and score the goal! Poor Edson - he wanted to make an impact today - but, once again - he quickly found out how effective Andre Rocha, Adrian Serioux, Drew Moor, and Eric Avila were in thwarting his advances. Edson is strong and determined and works hard - but, he is no Cristiano Ronaldo or Lionel Messi! There's only so much we should expect from Edson. Personally, I believe that BOTH Landon and David got used to and somehow were still in All-Star 2008 Game mode (where there is so much quality on the field)! And, I believe many of our players were not fully prepared for how devastated the pitch at Frisco park really was... there were a LOT of spots on that pitch that were sand-patch mines!!!
I was so, so happy to see Sean back in the line-up; but, I really felt he was still HURTING from his injury!!!
In my opinion - again, in my opinion, these three players have to be let go: Greg Vanney, Pete Vagenas, and Carlos Ruiz! I believe we need another tall, young, fast Central Defender, and two very experienced Midfield Wingers that are capable of playing BOTH right & left wings. This is the only way David Beckham will ahve the freedom to orchestrate pin-point, accurate crosses!

Alexi must resign now if he has any pride in him. He has shown NOTHING in retooling this team. Goodbye and back to guitar lessons.

Well I don't want to make excuses for what I saw on TV Galaxy vs. FC Dallas but what the hell is going on with that turf, if you FC dallas call it "Stadium" wow is a dump. Anyways the way the GALAXY played was awful and disgrace it look like amature playing. Noone couldn't hold the ball or make right passes that's including Beckham and Donovan. What's going on with Randall I think he should be playing. Carlos Ruiz look out of shape and lost a lot of speed. I so very disappointed. RUUD have to go back to the same lineup they had Three weeks ago.

Buddle, Donovan
Beckham
Todula, Pires, Klein
Randolph, Frankling, Dominguez, Robert.

Keep in the Bench Ruiz, Allen, Venney, Jazic, Venegas, & Gordon

By the way I'm with You there should more the three players that Galaxy had to let go, thats, Ante Jazic, Vanney, Vagenas & Carlos Ruiz (Slow Fish)

At the end of the day, why are we still using Cronin. My 11 year old could of saved the first goal!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Why do we have three goalies if we are not going to use them.

My head is still hung in shame. My Goatsucking friends were all over that miserable performance last night! Why did we ever get rid of a 2x MLS Keeper of the Year for Fish? It's not Fishs fault he got injured in the first game, but he is no longer fast or fit enough to play. Why do we need another goalscorer anyway when we have the top two scorers in the league? Thank goodness Franklin is back! He and Klien are our only hope in the back. Cronin needs so much improvement! Yes he had made some great saves, but he's had more rookie mistakes than he should as the starting keeper on this talented team. If he goes chasing the opposing player around outside the 18 one more time this year I'm going to give up my season seats!! Vanney isn't any good, Jazic is on and off. Where's Mikey? He's the quickest for the back four and he plays the ball out of the backfield well. I hope Dominguez will play better than his performance last night. If not, getting rid of X is really going to bite us in the butt, regardless of Ruud's personality conflict with him. I also think a huge problem the team is having is that Ruud is changing the line-up too much. Too many players who haven't been playing in the games on the field at the same time. I know this is a professional level but any team plays better when they're used to each other. We are giving away so many balls because our passes aren't connecting. The only ones who are connecting are Becks, Landon and Klien because they know what the other person is going to do. Ruud needs to stick with a line-up and make subs as needed but playing around with the starting 11 every week is not going to get us to the MLS Cup. I want to see MY TEAM at that Cup!

Clueless in Carson.

It was reported that Ruud had a talk with Fish last week about his needing to step-up his game or be released. I think Ruud kept him in 90 minutes to give him a chance to prove himself, obviously he didn't. I wouldn't be surprised if we don't get news from the FO this week that Fish is no longer. I can only hope! Sorry Fish, bye bye.

Agree w/some of the above comments- especially----

MAINTAIN A CONSISTENT LINE-UP

Let the players develop that 6th sense of where the ball will be, what the other teammates will do, and let the starting 11 become as ONE UNIT! That's the only way our Galaxy will be playing at the cup this yr. (THIS yr. at our home stadium- come on guys- that would mean a lot and encourage many to keep their season tix.)
