Mandou Makes Introductions

The blog staff was just introduced to the Galaxy's latest trialist, Mandou Bojang. A central defender from Gambia, Bojang was spotted by Paul Bravo during his recent trip to Africa and is expected to train with the Galaxy for the next two weeks.

Just 19 years old, Bojang was a member of Gambia's Under-20 National Team at the Under-20 World Cup in Canada last year, as well as a member of Gambia's squad at the U-17 World Cup in Peru in 2005.

He played the full 90 minutes in all four of Gambia's games in Canada as well as all three of his country's games in 2005.

We will check in with him tomorrow after his first day of training.

Wow - I'm shocked... I'm not sure how to take this "more-than-welcomed" bit of news. Actual news related to sport (soccer/football) chances/advantages/disadvantages with respect to our team... not only that - but, reporting on events and occrurences BEFORE actually given the bleached & tamed / official nod from Galaxy Media Relations. Intriguing?!!! Definitely, a "THANKS, SO MUCH" is in order to the Official Blog for breaking this news to all of us.
For the many fans - here's some physical stats, I was able to research:
Mandou Bojang (played & trained at U-17, U-18, and U-20 levels for the Gambian National Men's Soccer teams); DOB = Nov. 18, 1988; Height = 185 cm (6'-1"); Weight = 75 kg (165 lbs); Position = Central Defense; Strengths = Great in Aerial Battles, Definite Pace & Agility, Exceptional Marking; Weaknesses = Young/Lanky (similar to Bakary Soumare, but not as tall as him), not proven against the more experienced international goal-scorers (like Cauhtemoc Blanco, Luciano Emilio, Dwayne De Rosario, Juan Pablo Angel, Amado Guevara). And, hopefully, he has no issues with turf, traveling, physical nature of MLS, and, of course, our MLS-Refs.
Again - I am surprisingly (pleasantly, nonetheless) shocked that the Official Blog was able to share this with all of us. Does this mean that you folks want more LA Galaxy fans moaning and griping at the blog for stuff as important as this to get released???

Finally, some worth while news. why such secrecy in this organization when it comes to the information us fans crave/deserve. Get your heads out of the sand. No one cares except your true fans.
