Notes:
· With the draw, the Galaxy are now 1-1-6 on the season, leaving them in sixth place in the Western Conference with nine points. LA are one point behind Real Salt Lake for fifth place in the conference and four points ahead of seventh place San Jose.
· Galaxy head coach Bruce Arena made four changes to his lineup from the 1-1 tie with Real Salt Lake on Wednesday with Jovan Kirovski, Alan Gordon, Mike Magee and Tony Sanneh returning to the lineup in place of Edson Buddle, Chris Klein, Eddie Lewis and Sean Franklin. Buddle, Klein and Lewis came in as substitutes, while Franklin traveled but did not dress for the match.
· The Galaxy were without Yohance Marshall, who is on the club’s Disabled List and not eligible for selection and is out until at least the home game against Kansas City in May 30. Meanwhile, Griffin came off of the Disabled List and was eligible to return to duty on Sunday in Seattle, but did not travel with the team.
· Today’s game marked the first MLS meeting between the Galaxy and Sounders. LA defeated Seattle, then of the A-League (now USL First Division), in the Third Round of the 2000 U.S. Open Cup and in the Quarterfinals of the Open Cup in 2003, claiming 2-1 and 5-1 wins respectively. Additionally, the Galaxy beat the Sounders’ PDL team, the Seattle Sounders Select, in the Third Round of the 2001 Open Cup by a score of 3-1.
· The Sounders are the 16th different MLS team that the Galaxy will play since the start of MLS in 1996. All-time, the Galaxy are 10-4-2 the first time that they play a team and 7-7-2 in their first road game against a new team.
· The last team that the Galaxy faced for the first time-ever was Toronto FC, who joined MLS during the 2007 season. Those two teams met for the first time on August 5, 2007, playing to a 0-0 draw.
· With Sebastien Le Toux’s first half goal for Seattle Sounders FC, the Galaxy have now fallen behind 1-0 in six of their eight games this season, including all four road games. However, LA has come back to earn a draw in five of those games.
· Alan Gordon scored his second goal of the season. His first coming on April 4 in a 3-2 loss versus Colorado.
· Gordon’s goal also marked the first goal that Sounders goalkeeper Kasey Keller has given up at home this season and his second overall.
· Mike Magee’s assist was the first of his Galaxy career, adding to his first goal on Wednesday night at Real Salt Lake.
· With the red card to James Riley in the 57th minute, the Galaxy have now seen an opponent sent off for just the second time this season. The first coming on April 11 against Chivas USA as midfielder Paulo Nagamura was sent off in the 45th minute.
· With the draw, Donovan Ricketts remains unbeaten in his MLS career. He now has a 1-0-5 record for LA this season.
· The Galaxy remain unbeaten on the road this season with a 0-0-4 record. LA and the Chicago Fire are the only two teams in MLS not to have suffered a defeat on the road in 2009.
· After collecting six yellow cards and three red cards in the first four games of the season, the Galaxy recorded their first yellow card in three games.
· The attendance for today’s game was 29,025.
· The Galaxy are back in action on Sunday when they host the reigning MLS Cup Champion Columbus Crew at The Home Depot Center. That game kicks off at 12 p.m. and can be seen live on both FS West and Telefutura.

your team is a joke. What a bunch of cry baby girls flopping all over the pitch!

You should be ashamed of your team.

I think with Bruce Arena, ties/draws are more like wins right now. Remember, we still have the whole David Beckham fiasco/issue to dela with in July. Oy-veh! So, right now - let's just be glad that we are not the same team as last year! True - this defensive shell style is very "boring" / "irritating" / "unsatisfying" to watch... but, there are some critical things to be worked out still. If we can pick up two very good midfielders that are able to run fast, hold onto the ball, and can play on either wing... then, we'll shape ourselves well on the pitch... Right now, our players are just mixing & smashing all over the place - trying their utmost NOT to allow other teams to score.
Now, to the commentor who states that our team have cry-baby girls... Dude, if this was last year or the year before - I would not say anything nor argue... but, this team has more girt, more character, and cool-heads than what I have seen in this team in a long while. All we have to do is think to the days of Carlos "El Pescadito" Ruiz. Now whether this team is a joke... well, there are still 5 more solid months of playing left... So, I'm going to keep my mind, my eyes, and my heart open until then... But, for sure, this team is nothing like the team of the past two years!
Yes, we need lots of work in offense - no doubt about that. But again, I believe the coaches and the staff are trying their best to get the additional fire-power that this team needs WITHOUT disassembling the heart & core!

The good thing in today's game; the LA Galaxy started and played the game with direction, pace, and full intention of taking points away. Again, the passing in triangles & trapeziods need much more work. These ball movements are essential for this team!
YES, this team remembered shape, formation, discipline, and team-effort. I thank the coaches & the players to continue to stress and practice the above.
YES, the LA Galaxy did their best at restricting Seattle's time and chances on the ball... however, they have very good, smart players that know how to position and move on the fly without thinking/wasting time!
Again, the fight & back-bone in our team is highly commendable. Good work , Bruce for bringing in true men to this team - AGED? Yes, of course, but true men nonetheless.
The only way Landon's efforts and touches/time on the ball can become more fruitfull for the team - is if the attacking players around him get a lot better in holding onto the ball and controlling their runs, timing, and speed. We need two(2) midfielders with smartness, pace, and defeinitely ability to HOLD ONTO THE BALL!!!
As expected, the fould & cards were going to come one way or the other - that's right - we have to expect that with a particular referee when that referee is officiating.

@Anonymous

Freddie Ljungberg was the biggest diver on the pitch yesterday. So before you start making ascertations about diving perhaps you should get your own house in order.

Learn how to spell first of all...

Hey you joke of a soccer fan, I want to personally thank you and your semi-pro club for setting back the MLS 10 years.

I am not a sounders fan you idiot. I hate the Sounders, I hate them more then anything, except you now. I am a Portland fan.

More then that I am a fan of American Soccer. What the Galaxy did was a joke. Every player on the pitch dove, cried, and even worse they delayed the game every chance they could because they couldn't keep up with SSFC.

If you guys are such homers that you can't see it, just stop watching the game all together. You are a disgrace to the game, just like your team. You are the reason the rest of the world thinks Americans know very little about the sport.

One player from SSFC had one dive in the whole game. I just watched it back for the third time to make sure. The Galaxy play the laziest, ugliest, dirtiest, most unattractive style of soccer in American today.

If you are going to suck, fine, suck. But don't cry to the refs all game long and get calls just because of what it says on your chest. And stop delaying the game and ruining the experience for fans.

Your city is trash, your club is trash, and real fans would call them out for it.

I can't believe you are not pissed at your team. I am amazed you support this trash.

Piss off you weak fans!

Wow the last guy needs to get a life instead of ranting online and watching a game three times over. Seriously this is about how the Galaxy turn ties into wins not about Americans vs. The World. And stay off the Galaxy site if you are a Portland fan and go support your weak USL team.

How's Cronin working for out for your team you moron! Once again, the commentating was horrible, Jim Watson is a disgrace, I'm surprised Tom Payne didn't correct him when he said they were 1-5-1. How does the home broadcaster not know when this team travels? He thought they were on the road since Salt Lake. A few weeks back he admitted he didn't watch the Chivas game, seriously!? Get a clue Galaxy, you're losing fans because we can't tolerate listening to FSN. Thank goodness the game was on Telefutura. Way to go Alan! He's the most under appreciated player on the team. He's the best player in the air, in this league, top three at least. See you all Sunday afternoon, can't wait!
