In his third consecutive start, David Beckham scored his first goal for AC Milan on Sunday in a 4-1 win over Bologna. In addition to MLS, Beckham has now recorded a goal in the EPL, La Liga and Serie A. Check out this Goal.com recap. What did you think of the goal?

Meanwhile, Landon Donovan continues to score goals Bayern Munich boasting four goals in just five matches. Here are updates from the LA Times and NY Times blogs. What did you think of his goals?

Beckham and Donovan, who are scheduled to return from loan on March 8, will be back on the field for LA in the PHX Soccer Clasico as the Galaxy take on the Chicago Fire on Saturday, March 14 at Sun Devil Stadium in Tempe, Ariz.

David seemed quite happy after he was able to make that goal for AC Milan. Good, clean strike. I'm glad that he was able to play well and play all 90 minutes. But, you could definitely see that he was losing momentum after 75 minutes. Understandable. The spine of the AC MIlan team starts with the solid back-4, through Pirlo, Ambrosini, onto Seedorf, and Kaka. AC Milan absolutely needs Kaka on their team. He is the creative visionary for that team. My hope is that David gets to continue to play 90 minutes in much more games - in the central midfield role. David is still not there where he should be in that central midfield role. He's gotta play in that role much more - to be comfortable with right leg, as well as left leg. But, I believe he will get there; I'm more concerned with that he actually gets to play full 90 minute games.
Landon, on the other hand, is doing the most he can, as often as he can to keep impressing the higher-ups & fans of Bayern. I really hope that he gets his opportunity to join and play for Bayern. If Klinnsman is there, he'll like it there!

the way Donovan performs for Bayern so far, will make them try to buy him from MLS.

What about Becks comments after yesterday's game ?

Honesty would be appreciated by all.

AEG wake up. Beckham is not bigger than the club. Trade this turn-coat now. If this idiot thinks he can replace Gatusso after scoring one goal in garbage time against a nothing team he's dreaming.

That is a nasty viscious comment and I am surprised the moderator allowed defamation of character to be posted on this blog. Beckham has proved over and over again that he is loyal and dedicated. He was dropped from Real and told he would never play for them again, he didn't do what numerous other players have done and sulked an dgone AWOL he showed up for practice went to all the games and earned his place back in the team, leading them to the championship. Same with the England team he has been totally loyal. Capello who dropped him in Madrid and now picks him for England has publicly apologized and praised his character. As for his talent he proves it over and over again. If you don't have that talent then don't criticize those that do. I hope he comes back to the Galaxy for selfish reasons but if he doesn't why shouldn't he take the opportunity to play with and against some of the best players and teams in the world instead of in the soccer wilderness of Carson California. I don't know what you do but if you were a chef and could chose between frying hamburgers at McDonalds or preparing gourmet food at Michelin 3* restuarant what would you do? I don't hear these things being said about Donovan, doesn't he have a contract too?

Its qite obivious that David Beckham doesn't care one bit for the Galaxy and/or the fans, never did and never will- let him stay in Milan. I thought he is under a contract- but that doesn't mean a rat's (you know what) to him.

Once again, folks... It doesn't surprise me to how much of an extent the issue of David Beckham, his salary, his rights, his fame, and all the other baggage that unfortunately is associated to a footballer of his "infamous" calibre is just "shellac'ing" the minds & emotions of many a fan. Look folks, we don't have the inside scoop and the many twisted scenarios and promises on his time & intent at AC Milan. But, at least, be truthful and decent enough to allow an aging footballer the opportunity and chance that he is desperately going after. Let it be his perrogative. If he comes back to the LA Galaxy and even gets in a good solid 6 months of playing for us - fine, more better for us. If he doesn't come back anbd decides to stay at AC Milan... still, fine - more better for him and England. Right now, our attention should be on making sure that Bruce, Dave, and Cobi are spending their time, their energies, their attention on the veterans, trialists, and drafters that are trying to practice and prove themselves until the start of the 2009 season. All I really care about is whether one stays or leaves - that Bruce, Dave, and Cobi expect, demand, and go after the left-over salary cap space to bring in essential players to secure all of the essential positions and creativity on field for our LA Galaxy. Don't get sucked in to the mindless/chaotic drama with superstars' lives - they've got people... all we got is what is definite and present in front of us in the form of the LA Galaxy.

All REAL Galaxy supporters want is for him to show the same dedication to the Galaxy that he showed to Real Madrid while he was under contract. He is on contract to this team and he should honor the terms of the loan. I have no problems with the loan and I liked that he previously cofirmed that he IS a Galaxy player and would return for the start of the season in his remarks. But I do have a PROBLEM when he balks publicly about returning on time right after he scores a goal.

Is everybody on here called "anonymous". Why doesn't anybody identify themselves. Anyway , Milan, Madrid, Manchester, LA or whereever will love him anyway.

TRADE him. He'll end up playing in Dubai, India or Vietnam in less than a year. He doesn't deserve us.

In a nutshell---MLS doesn't know how to treat David Beckham, and for that they don't deserve him. For what it's worth Mr. Beckham, thank you for all you've brought to MLS, and I hope you won't judge us all by the clueless and jealous few.

Becks is a very good role player who will succede on any high caliber team. But his time with the Galaxy has proven that he is not a dominant player who guide a common team to a higher level.

Dump him, eliminate the DP rule and go with slow and steady growth as before. This game still needs to take baby steps until a knowlable fan base interested in supporting the American game and not celebraties is developed.

Cannon Girl, I couldn't agree more.Watching Donovan and Buddle just stand stil and make no attempt to move into a position to accept his passes was excrutiating for us watching and to see the look on Beck's face was embarrasing to us Brits as supporters of the Galaxy. I felt like running on the field and apologizing to him. Watching his running off the ball in Milan last weekend was incredible but I realized the Galaxy players just do not know how to utilize that and most of the "fans" also don't have a clue. Also, we thought we were Joe's biggest fans when he was at LA.
Anonymous whoever you are "has proven that he is not a dominant player who guide a common team to a higher level."
Rubbish he is one of the most dominant players not by NFL rules of brute force but by intelligence.
I believe it is just not part of the American physche requiring instant gratification to be able to appreciate football.

Do you really think becks will come back to L.A.?? Let's think about is playing for the most winning team in the world, in a great championship and with many champions. Mls is like a third division in Europe, and Becks won't came back. Because he's still a champion, he could win serie A championship and only playing with Milan he could go on the world cup.

When David Beckham came to LA in 2007 despite the huge publicity and excitement from us football fans, in the soccer unfriendly circles (and boy there are plenty of them...) what people were talking about most, was how ineffective he would be in his Galaxy jersey and how he would not be able to change a thing, just like Pele, Cruyff, Beckenbauer and all the earlier world football stars that gave it a try in the US were not either. At the time I could not disagree more with the people underestimating Beckham. Any chance I got I tried to argue and prove my points that this time was different, he was more dedicated, he was an ambassador of the sport, there was no way he would not succeed. I believed in him so much that I bought season tickets almost immediately as his transfer to Los Angeles was announced. We also purchased his jersey for all of us in the family during the course of his first season. Hey, we even made a banner welcoming him to US (what a waste of time and money....).

After only a season and a half (considering that he barely played in his first year here) It seems that I was nowhere close to winning any arguments with anybody in regards to Beckham's abilities to bring the game to a new level here in America as well.

Since he played in only a few games we never really took his first season seriously, knowing there would be four more (at least ). The following season was a little better, but still he was not the player we expected him to be. I kept reading from various sources, that " the Beckham team is calling the shots in the locker room". On the field, although he did score a couple of goals and assisted many more, I never saw the dedication and the excitement I cannot escape seeing now while he plays for Milan.
Many say you need to be surrounded by good players to be able to play well. That is true somewhat, but then how many set pieces was Beckham able to score in his year and a half with the Galaxy? I believe the number is two and none of them within the MILS Championship. One (his first ever as a Galaxy player) was against DC United in the Superliga, the other in a friendly against Sydney. Why only two when you are such an expert? You are not depending on your teammates for those... "Even if Beckham does not return to Los Angeles, he put the MILS and the Galaxy on the map". What map? What kind of a message are you sending when you are quitting after a year and a half from a place that you volunteered to set new grounds for. " He doesn't like to play on artificial turf " Nobody really does. Luckily the soccer stadiums are blooming and the ones with artificial turf and faded confusing American football lines are thank god less and less. So many European media outlets grab every chance they got to diminish the overall quality of the MILS. Yet all the big names arrive here from all over the world to show the poor Americans how the game should be played start packing only after a season or two. They cannot put up with the heat, the travel time, time zones. Wouldn't circumstances like these make this league a little tougher than the leagues where they do not play during summer and some of the cities you visit are a couple of hours away? I am European too and grew up watching football, so I am not even subjective. Here, when you belong to a team that is located on the West Coast for instance, if you play a night home game, you could be still playing at 10 PM local time, then if your next game is on the East Coast and you have a noon game local time, that is 9 AM Pacific time. Not to mention the five hour plane trip. Many players are just unable to adjust. Mr Beckham does not seem to be any different.

I am not familiar why Beckham chose to come to this country in the first place. But if he wanted to prove something, so far he succeeded to do just the opposite.. If he breaks his contract he will lose a lot of respect and not only in Los Angeles. He will be looked at differently by many.
I know, my framed, signed Beckham jersey I used to cherish will certainly come off the wall and move to storage, facing the wall.
