Just after 10 a.m. this morning, the players hit the field for the first practice of the preseason. We'll be out there for the end to talk with a few of the guys, but for now, check out the scene from today's morning workout.

How about listing the players kit numbers?
Guys - thanks so much for these training pictures. It is so good to see our guys back on the field again! I want to impress that each and everyone who trains, shows up for drills, practices, scrimmages are giving themselves the opportunity to be selected into the final 24. That means each of them much take it upon themselves to be professional, extremely hard-working, listening, following, play-making, and learning. Remember, this has to be a 24-manned cohesive, strong, determined, absolutely powerful TEAM. Each of them have to believe that and be always ready to show that! I wish all of the guys the best. But, in the short/long-term it must come down to the 24 best available!!! That means players with guts, skills, and abilities to play multiple positions on field!!!

is 13 retired in honour of Cobi or just not handed out ?
are there any MLS or Galaxy regulations regarding the numbers ?
Ben
Ben,
If I'm nost mistaken you're right... the number 13 has been retired in honor of Cobi Jones. Actually, I'm not sure if there any set regulations in MLS rules on using jersey numbers. My belief is that it should be the club's perrogative to honor and to uphold a retired club players' jersey number - however, it has to be made a known fact to all MLS clubs if done so. For Cobi, the case was much simpler, he was, is, and will be a die-hard, true-blood of the LA Galaxy. But, for stellar, accomplished players that have spent 4+ years in clubs (namely, club-hopping), I'm not sure what the rules are there???
