Sean Franklin Undergoes Surgery

The 2008 MLS Rookie of the Year Sean Franklin was not on the field today as the Galaxy opened preseason training at The Home Depot Center. Instead, the 23-year old Palmdale native was in Munich, Germany undergoing bilateral sports hernia surgery. Famed German surgeon Dr. Ulrike Muschaweck performed the surgery on Tuesday and Franklin will be back in Los Angeles on Thursday to begin his rehabilitation.

Franklin, who left National Team camp on Thursday because of the injury, is expected to be ready to play in time for the Galaxy’s season opener on March 22 against D.C. United.

Wow would it suck if Sean were to miss games. I hope it all goes good and he is back in time for the season.
