Finding Some Down Time

No matter how much training and fitness work guys put in during the preseason, there is always going to be a significant down time, especially when you're on the road and away from your family.

As a result, even with an adequate amount of rest and time with the trainers, there are a lot of hours to fill. The local restaurants have seen their fair share of Galaxy players passing through their doors as the guys have been given most evenings off to get out. On top of that, we caught up with a few of the guys to see how they have gone about passing the time here in Scottsdale.

Josh Saunders was joined by his brother, who lives in the area, as well as BJ, Kevin Guppy and Eddie Lewis out for some clay shooting here in the area. This gave BJ a chance to pose for this picture.
While those guys were shooting, others were watching shots at the PGA Tour's Waste Management Phoenix Open here in Scottsdale. One of the most unique experiences in all of golf, the crowds at the tournament, especially at the famed 16th hole, garner just as much attention as the golfers themselves. Bruce, Dave, Cobi and Ian made their way over to the TPC Scottsdale to watch the proceedings, as did golf fans Chris Klein and Gregg Berhalter. Ian provided us with this image (of a postcard) to show the 16th in its full glory with a capacity crowd and of course the permanent skyboxes, the only such one in all of golf.
Others such as Alex Cazumba and Michael Stephens hit the ping pong table that resides right next to the pool and jacuzzi that have begun to get more and more use as the skies have cleared.

We're only here for a few more days, but if anyone has any recommendations on how to pass the time, we're all ears.
