A New Look

A busy day here at The Home Depot Center with a few different items already being finalized.

But before we get to that, don't forget to come back here at 1 p.m. (PT) for a live chat with Josh Tudela.

Now onto the news...

  • Three players have come into to train with the club this week with Jamie Franks (formerly of Chivas USA), Dan Gargan (formerly of Colorado and Chivas USA) and Joe Germanese (formerly of New England) all in for a look. We will let you know tomorrow morning if any of them are travelling to Arizona when we get the final travel party.
  • The club has signed four players, an announcement that will be formally made later today. A.J. DeLaGarza, Yohance Marshall, Kyle Patterson and Josh Saunders are now all under contract for the 2009 season.
  • On Wednesday the club officially announced that it had reached an agreement with ESPN Deportes Radio that will see the station once again serve as the official Spanish radio home of the Galaxy. The station will broadcast all 30 of the club's regular season games this year (with a 30-minute pregame show) as well as the weekly Puro Galaxy, which will air every Saturday at noon, starting on March 21.
  • Lastly, if you want all of this news and more, be sure to visit the newly re-designed lagalaxy.com!

See you all at 1 p.m.

Does this mean that Tony Sanneh has not been signed yet? I guess not, or else the Galaxy would not bother with Gargan or Germanese.

Guys,
Once again, thanks for the updates and news. We do appreciate it. I'm telling ya - you're gonna get me used to these regular updates and then when it doesn't happen - I'm gonna gripe. I hope not. But, you guys are starting to raise my expectation levels. Remember, this is a good thing for all of us, fans. But, good products and good services come with a price... continued high expectations.
Congrats to AJ, Yohance, Kyle, and Josh on earning contracts with the LA Galaxy for 2009. Way to go, guys! Stay healthy, sharp, focused, and always practice!
Well, I hope the trialists will get to go with the team on Friday to take part in the pre-season exhibition match against Chicago... I think Bruce & Dave would gain much more better insight and evaluation from it. Good luck to the trialists. Start of 2009 is not that far away at all... I just hope Eddie Lewis, Sean Franklin, Edson Buddle, Todd Dunivant, and Bryan Jordan are all recovering or have recovered and and are working hard to get back to match fitness.
Finally, some much needed renovations to the LA Galaxy web-pages at MLSnet.com ; it's about time! Any updates on whether there will be a video feed set-up to watch the Phoenix Classico???

You guys are coming around, on the blog here. By the end of the season we will have the best blog keep up the good work.

Nothing exciting about the cast offs coming in. Show me some real talent from s/o border.

Redesign site still too generic and busy. Model yourselves after Seattle.

Why don't you guys ever showcase the new kits? You need to stir up the fans into a frenzy for the new season on many fronts. Get more passionate already! What a dull team!

The redesign looks like crap.

With spelling like that, how could they not take your suggestions seriously?

live chat w/Josh today was awesome, thanks for that! Seattle has at least three full-time employees dedicated to their videos b/c they are separate from the league. I'm guessing LA doesn't have their budget. They still produce the best videos. Thanks again Josh!

I like the new look. The videos get more pub like they deserve. Some icons still don't click when their supposed to, but overall, better...

Will the blog have highlights of the Chicago game up afterwards? I understand turn around time can be difficult on the road, but it would be great if we could see how our team did directly afterwards instead of reading a crap article the next morning...

Thanks,
J

UPDATE: Sorry, guys... looks like the Youth Academy is NOT playing this Saturday. Just changed the schedule today I guess. Instead they'll play on Sunday, Mar. 22nd against Real So-Cal.
