Landon Set to Return on Mar. 10

It is official, Galaxy forward Landon Donovan will re-join the club as scheduled following the conclusion of his loan to Bayern Munich. He will return to training with the Galaxy on Tuesday, March 10, two weeks before the Galaxy’s season opener against D.C. United at The Home Depot Center on Sunday, March 22.

Here is what Landon had to say:
“I am very excited to be returning home to my teammates and the LA Galaxy. I would like to thank Bayern Munich for the opportunity to play with one of the premier clubs in Europe, as well as all their coaches and players for welcoming me into the Club,” said Donovan. “Although the results were not what we had hoped for, the time in Germany still was very positive for me. I am fit, motivated, and excited to be coming back as a better, more experienced player."

Thank goodness - about the one, real, good piece of news for the LA Galaxy. Glad you're coming back, Landon. I really hope that Eddie Lewis, Todd Dunivant, Bryan Jordan, and (I guess, now) Edson Buddle are still recovering on target.
I trying to figure out how our team allowed Colorado Rapids to go up 3 - 0 within the first half during yesterday's closed-scrimmage session. What happened along our back-line??? I know Conor Casey, Omar Cummings, and Colin Clarke are fast - but, did our Galaxy players just get smoked?
Aren't these sort of things going to be addressed by Bruce and Dave? Isn't the past month-and-a-half enough time to get the player's fitness and their heads and their focus and attention into the seriousness of competitive games? Anyways, I won't go on; the lack of strength, power, fight, and spirit is just so frustrating to comprehend!

Donovan returns. However, it is not the result that he expected. The reason is because it did not come true even if I expect it. May not everybody notice the fact?

Well, having Landon here for this season will help us. I hope that Landon will play with real motivation, energy, and ownership. My guess is that David will have secured an extension on his AC Milan loan until end of June. When he does come back here - I really doubt how many games teh LA Galaxy will be able to have him for. I suspect the whole reason LA Galaxy was unwilling to completely hand him over to AC Milan is that there are still several AWAY MLS locations that David needs to appear in (for purposes of ticket sales and jerseys). My hope is that LA Galaxy is going to get the extra monies they need to secure some more quality, hard-nosed attacking and defensive players. Come on Bruce, Dave, and D. Kammarman - get your prospects lined up and tell them to be in full-fitness. This season starts in just over two weeks. There isn't much time left. Let's get our LA Galaxy squad secure, ready, and in the mind-set and form to play well & to play hard!

Ohhhh....is THIS how a loan works? Now I understand. Welcome back LD. If you happen to speak to DB, tell him to stay put. We don't want him here anymore.

we still need a play maker in the middle or it will be another lost season with DB or not. When is this organization going to understand this. Cobi make them understand (I'm hoping you do at least or ask Cien if you've forgotten).

It is a shame that skysports post the deal with Becks before his own club says anything. When will this site post the news?????

Landon Donovan is a reject. He wnated to stay in Europe to try "agiag" but was not offered the option, if he had been offered a permanent deal which was he was never good enough for he wold be staying and I wish he was.

The Becks deal has now been posted on SkySports for two days, as I said before, I think it would be classier if the HOME CLUB put out the news first.

What is the problem here? I have been trying to post a Becks note for over 48 hours when the news broke on sky sports. I am a long time season ticket holder and if you have decided not to post my comments because you are too slow in getting out your own press release, everyone will be told about this. Too much control and not enough appropriate action. Very disapointed!

First of all, sky sports has always been reporting that the deal is done and they have never been right when reporting this. The only ones saying that a deal is done are the Italians and they have been saying the same thing for the last month. The Galaxy has been saying very little and when they do talk they say the exact opposite of what the Italians are saying. I will believe it when Arena or Leiweke say the deal is done.

These are the kind of news & reports that still gives me hope and satisfaction for this league, for this organization, and for the growth of this sport in our great nation.
From MLS/LA Galaxy New's Release today:
"Now in its third year, Sueño MLS expands to three markets, including for the first time cities in the Midwest and East Coast. The Chicago Fire, DC United and the LA Galaxy will each host tryouts, with four local winners from each city moving on to an exciting four-day "Final Event" in Los Angeles. The finals will include training sessions, scrimmages, guest celebrity scouts, and an opportunity to meet some of the league's biggest stars at the "SuperClasico" game between the LA Galaxy and Chivas USA on April 11. The ultimate champion will be crowned on Sunday, April 12, live (EST) on "República Deportiva" (see Key Dates section below for more information)."

If you folks have the chances to see some of the youth of our city play in their leagues and clubs - you will be astonished at how smart, saavy, and gifted several of these youths are. First of all, their speed alone just makes my mouth water at times. I am so glad that MLS is giving these youths a stage, a time-slot, and opportunities to shine. It makes all of this other sickophantic nonsense finally take a back-seat! I wish these youth players the best of luck and fortitude. Many of these players are from failies who are not well-to-do and currently have to work two jobs or more to make their children's dreams become a reality. I hope none of us ever puts down or forget the grass-roots establishments and efforts. MLS is for them, more so than it is for us elder folk.
