Landon Called In For National Camp

No surprise here. Landon Donovan, the all-time leading goal scorer for the stars and stripes, was one of 22 players called in to the National Team by Bob Bradley today ahead of World Cup Qualifiers at El Salvador (March 28) and against Trinidad & Tobago (in Nashville on April 1).

Here's the roster by position:

GOALKEEPERS (3): Brad Guzan (Aston Villa: 4/3 SO), Tim Howard (Everton: 8/6 SO), Marcus Hahnemann (Reading: 1/1 SO)

DEFENDERS (7): Carlos Bocanegra (Rennes: 17/2), Danny Califf (FC Midtjylland: 3/0), Jay DeMerit (Watford: 1/0), Frankie Hejduk (Columbus Crew: 15/1), Oguchi Onyewu (Standard de Liege: 13/1), Heath Pearce (Hansa Rostock: 8/0), Jonathan Spector (West Ham United: 2/1)

Congrats, Landon.

Eddie Johnson belongs nowhere near our national team. He scores 1 goal in coca-cola league after playing like CRAP for years and he gets called up.

What's Edson Buddle gotta do? Sheesh.

Good news is that WE don't have a conflict.

So:
Go Landon, Go US
Go Landon, Go US

Wait. LD is still playing on Sunday for us though, right? You might want to clarify that in this blog.

Good luck to our USMNT against El Salvador and T&T next week and following. I hope the training camp goes well - and, the actual games are played strongly with good, positive results.
Now, are there any updates about our LA Galaxy on the training grounds? How are Eddie, Edson, Stefani, Donovan Ricketts doing? Recovering well enough to be able to play? Any practice and scrimmage videos?

So does anyone have the actual # count of how many Galaxy games Landon is gonna miss this year? And on another note.....why in the heck can't we pick up players like Fredy Montero!! I just through my Becks jersey in the trash so I can make room for that kid's jersey in my closet. I hope the Galaxy aren't humilated by this so called expansion team that looked more like they'd been playing a while.

There is something fishy about Keller/Ljiunberg/Hurtado/Montero on a team with only one DP slot. Roth must have something up his sleeve. Maybe roles in the next Vinnie Jones B movie. Something is definitely crooked up there and we can't even land an Osman Chavez/s.
