Preparing for Columbus

It was another scorcher here at the HDC as the team prepares to take on the Columbus Crew, who sits in second place in the Eastern Conference. Despite the heat, Ruud, David, Landon and Edson took some time to speak to the media before heading back inside after training. Here's what they had to say.

Ruud on the pressure of being in first place and last weekend's clean sheet...

David on having Landon back and the team scoring goals without Landon...

Landon on teammates scoring goals and the Galaxy being in first place...

Edson on scoring and playing an Eastern Conference team...

Well, I was hoping to see some our LA Galaxy team training, scrimmaging, playing full-sided games against one-another. No Luck, I guess. Thanks for the audio snippets. It's at least something. Yes, the temperatures outside are above 100 deg. F. The players need to stay hydrated, fully focused on the task of WINNING... on the task of playing FULL-CONTROL, FULL-POSESSION soccer in both first halves and second halves. The game against Columbus Crew is indeed a VERY IMPORTANT one for the LA Galaxy - it establishes QUALITY, it establishes VALIDITY & OWNERSHIP of the right to stay up top in the Western Conference. They must NOT take this game lightly - So, no complaining about the heat, or the sun, or the turf/grass, or being tired. We need to WIN the coming games. It must be done! We have games against DC United (AWAY game) and New England Revs (HOME game) after tomorrow's. DETERMINATION, DRIVE, QUALITY, CONTROL - all of these things must show! Love this sport! Go GALAXY!!!
