Notes:
· With the loss, the Galaxy fall to 6-5-3 on the season for 21 points. They remain in first place in the Western Conference standings, two points ahead of the Houston Dynamo and Real Salt Lake.
· Ruud Gullit made no changes to his team, using the same starting XI as he used in the 3-3 draw with Columbus last weekend. It is the first time since the second and third games (on April 3 and April 13) of the year that Gullit has been able to use the same lineup in consecutive games.
· Jaime Moreno’s penalty kick goal in the 5th minute was the earliest goal allowed by the Galaxy this season, coming one minute earlier than Fabian Espindola’s goal for Real Salt Lake in the 2-2 draw with the Galaxy at Rice-Eccles Stadium on May 3.
· Edson Buddle’s goal in the 26th minute was his 10th of the season. He has now scored in four straight games and has recorded double figures in goals for the third time in his career, but the first time since 2004. He is now one goal off of tying his career-high of 11 set that same season.
· Buddle now joins Landon Donovan with double figures in goals this season. The last time that the Galaxy had two or more players each score 10 or more goals in the same season was in 2005 when Donovan scored 12 goals to lead the club, while Herculez Gomez added 11. The only other time that the Galaxy more than one player scored 10 or more goals in a season was in 1998 when Cobi Jones, Welton and Mauricio Cienfuegos all scored more than 10.
· With his assist on Buddle’s goal, Landon Donovan is now tied for the MLS in assists with seven.
· The four goals allowed by the Galaxy ties the club’s season-high for this year, which was set in the season opener against Colorado, a 4-0 Galaxy defeat.
· The attendance for tonight’s game was 35,979, meaning that all but one of the Galaxy’s road games this season have been played in front of more than 20,000 fans.
· The Galaxy are back in action on Friday, July 4, when they host the New England Revolution at The Home Depot Center. The match will kick off at 7:30 p.m. and can be seen live on FSN Prime Ticket. The match will also be available live on the radio starting at 9 a.m. on AM 570 (English) and KWKW 1330 ESPN Deportes. Fans attending the game will also have a chance to see the club’s annual Fireworks Extravaganza, which is powered by KDAY 93.5 FM.

I want all LA Galaxy fans to really think hard about today's nasty performance! There is no reason why the LA Galaxy media should boast and taunt this team as a "SUPER TEAM". We went to RFK as sheep to slaughter! Wake UP, Head Coach Ruud! Wake up Coach Cobi! I guess we simply exist to sell jerseys and over-charge fans! Pitiful!!!

Our problems are so, so evident! Please we need to make necessary trades/waivers this July! We must have BETTER, QUICKER CENTER BACKS sheilding and re-distributing. We need more expertise, and crispness in the midfield. These two areas must be addressed. I'm sorry but Chris Klein (as good, as strong, as dedicated as he is)... the man just cannot cover both wing-side attack and wing-to-center shield on the run-back as quickly. It's just not going to happen! Mikey (eventhough is getting better, more productive), he's still has a lot to learn about NOT LOOSING on critical ball control. Ely Allen tried hard to do his job both offensively and defensivley - but, the experience, the timing, the smartness to always think three moves ahead like David and Landon - NOPE, SORRY! That's expecting way too much from these youngsters. Yes, they're getting vaulable MLS competition and game time - meanwhile LA GALAXY is SLIDING & LOSING ground in the Western Conference. This is NOT good tactics!!! Please - it's so clearly evident... we need more depth, expertise, control, smartness!!!

Ruud,

Wake up. You have a huge problem in the middle of defense and midfield. Eli Allen in the middle for 2 games in a row? Are you insane or that desperate? Abel is no longer ABLE. Make changes now or this season and you will be a bust as well.

I all I want for Christmas is Allen of my team.

galaxy needs better talented player on left midfield, center midfield and on defense. move jasic back to left back or have him be sub. take randolph out and greg vanney should be the starting left back. sign a good center back and have sean franklin on the right back. sign edgar davids for the center midfield. and beckham at right center midfield. move klein to right wing. and find a good left winger.

I really... really hope that LA Galaxy management, coaches, and AEG are looking, reading, and accepting what these commentors above are stating/trying to say(whether it be loyal fans or out of sense of duty and common sense). Because, all of us who watch the LA Galaxy play right now - clearly see the product on the field. Please, LA Galaxy - listen, accept it - swallow whatever pride / big-hopes / vast dreams this organization have... and, do the actions and objectives that will GUARANTEE LA Galaxy making it to the 2008 MLS Playoffs CONVINCINGLY!!!
I agree with BOTH of the commentors above. #1 Priority = we need very good Center Backs. #2 = bring expertise, power, tactics, excellent touch and ball movement back into the midfield - especially on the wings, both left & right. #3 = EVERY LA GALAXY player from this point on MUST be 125% committed to hard, hard work , practices, solid results, and fitness. NO EXCEPTIONS!
DC UNITED made an easy killing off of us. And, more than that - it was in front a larger national audience. This is NOT what LA Galaxy should represent and show - we will never get respect nor credibility this way. Please, stop going after fame & glitz & photo-shoots. STOP! This is a SOCCER organization, first & foremost - Please focus on getting, securing, and developing soccer excellence and superiority.
I am so worried about our next game against the New England Revs - if you guys thought DC United was hard... you guys are in for a BRUTAL, BRUTAL AWAKENING! New England Revs have a very FAST, ENERGETIC, ATTACKING team.

If Enson and Landon are doing what we are doing why don't we sell Fish and use his 400k for a good defense. Things are so misallocated. However our offense will get weaker is Sept when Landon and David are doing World Cup Qualifiers. Fish might be handy then.
