I wasn't able to watch the game since I am a college student in Utah who doesn't have FSC, but from what I saw of the highlights, we spanked them! I can't stand Chivas USA, so that was a great feeling.
Unfortunately, I too (like the commentor above) was not able to go to nor watch the game [Long story: Family Emergency/Dilemma]. But, from what I saw from the highlights... Landon - you ruled the pitch with your command and presence. Awesome... Spectacular... Thanks - Thanks so much for coming to this game as the skilled, professional soccer player you are! It was because of Landon Donovan's scoring (finishing) that we won this Classic match. David - your persisitence and hard, hard work (of course) played a most essential role in games. Chris Klein - Work Horse Extraodinaire... Wonderful & Much Needed! I saw that once Sean Frankilin was paired up with Greg Vanney on the left... the Chivas attack from that side was thwarted. Our beloved Abel... Abel, you did play a hard game and you did try to protect your zone... but, please ask and teach the D-Mid to help and protect your zone some more (if possible). But, honestly... the first goal from Chivas (the left-footed shot from Sascha Klejstan) could have been tapped away IF... IF... Steve Cronin stayed closer to the goal posts/cross-bar! With three LA Galaxy defenders around the penalty box, Steve should have known NOT to stand that far away from the goal posts/cross-bar! The second goal from Chivas (another left-footed shot this time from Ante Razov)... this was just non-superb clearing of the ball from our defensive line... And, being the dead-ball/loose-ball opportunist that Ante is... he showed what his skills are. Joey... there is no doubt you are an IMPORTANT person to have on our LA Galaxy team - your role as ball-winner and pitbull / pressure hammer... we sorely, badly needed someone with your skills and gusto on our team. Thanks for doing what you do - I do hope you are welcomed and supported from all the members of our LA Galaxy.
Next week (May 3rd, LA Galaxy plays Real Salt Lake [1W - 3L - 1T]). Real Salt Lake should not be underestimated... They are only slowed down because of some injuries to some KEY players... But, they are a formidable side. They are even harder to beat at their stadium (Rice Eccles Stadium)... Remember what I said about Dick's Sporting Good Stadium - ALTITUDE... Well, it applies to Rice-Eccles also! But, along with the altitude... we have Field Turf!!! The ball BOUNCES VERY MUCH AND BOUCES OFTEN on this turf... Ball-control will be very tricky for our LA Galaxy. Maintaining a patient, controlled, skilled, focused game is going to be essential. I say the LA Galaxy should leave on Wednesday, so they can practice on this turf both Thursday and Friday before the match!
Keep the patience, focus... but, at the same time the intesnisty and hunger to win... SCORING & FINISHING chances is going to be essential!!! Go GALAXY!!!
If you can't get FSC check out the MLS website, yhou can stream the games (for a fee) or you can try sopcast where you might get some games free.
Yeah the feeling was the same if you were at the game. The atmosphere was electric, amazing game every week it gets better and better. We the crowd have to keep this up to help our players fight throughout the game.
