It's a weekend off for everyone (including us!) after a 2-0 win over San Jose on Thursday night.
Here's some highlights from that one...
The reserves were not so lucky on Friday afternoon however, falling 2-1 with Edson Buddle scoring the only goal for the home side.
You can read all about these games at lagalaxy.com and check back here as we will have some photos from Thursday night and more on our star right back in Friday's reserve game.

You guys that are posting up these pics and videos - Excellent work, you guys. There have been some exceptional pics and some great interviews posted here. Enjoy your weekend off! The training that will resume starting next week should be geared and pushed with the mentality of going up against two(2) very challenging and hard teams - Houston Dynamo and Chivas USA. These two opponents are going to make our LA Galaxy's playing very, very tough and frustrating. Houston Dynamo has one of the STRONGEST midfield line-up in the MLS. They are extremely comfortable adn competent with the ball in ALL sections of the midfield. Chivas USA has an extremely tough and resilient DEFENSE line... plus, if Brad Guzan is playing - there's almost zero (0) chance of LA Galaxy scoring. Please LA Galaxy - please keep on scrimmaging, building and solidifying PASSING, CROSSING, POSESSION, and quick-relase SHOT-ON-GOALS. Maintain full 90 minute fitness... But, from this point on - being SMART, QUICK, ULTRA-AGRESSIVE, and DETERMINED is going to be essential. Remember, do NOT give in to ANGER or FRUSTRATION - be STRONG, METHODICAL, FAST, and RELENTLESS. GO GALAXY!!!
Please Head Coach Ruud, Asst Coach Cobi, GoalKeepr Coach Ian, Fitness Coach Chris, and Head Trainer Armando... please take the time to watch and study the past games from Houston Dynamo and Chivas USA. Closely watch all their field positions. You guys must be prepared for what our LA Galaxy team will face!!! Don't go into the MLS season blind. Take the time to study, do research, and properly teach and equip our LA Galaxy players. Please... Please - I mean well by saying this... 4 - 4 - 3 formation will NOT work against these two teams... They are way too STRONG... they are extremely EXPERIENCED and COMPETITIVE teams!!! Our LA Galaxy must be ready and equipped positionally, physically, mentally, and attitide-wise also! It's time to be ultra-aggressive, determined, quick, and smart! Love this sport... Love this team... Go GALAXY!!!
Hey Charles stop posting dumb stuff how can we play a 4-4-3 anyways? Every post they put up here you post some crap pleading with the coaches to do this or that. Do you think they read this or better yet read what you write and think oh yeah Charles has a good point? Man people like you kill me, like you know half of the things Ruud and Cobi know about the game. I bet this was a conversation recently Hey Cobi lets not practice crossing or anything this week, Toronto is going to be so easy. Then we have Houston. Houston who Ruud? Ruud says Oh you know the two time champs. Cobi says Oh yeah them, they will be a breeze don't worry about them. Ruud says Ok sounds good so lets just play cards and drink some beers. Give us all a break and keep this stuff on your blog. They are not telling the coaches what you write.
why is it so little post in this blog? it should be AT LEAST a post each day about the team, or at least a post every two days. and it should be more post about the team especially after each game! it is important especially for someone like me who live outside America to keep track with the team, especially when i live in Asia where MLS got NO coverage in our television. so please keep posting as frequently as possible!
your weekend has taken too long. As a Galaxy offical blog, we do expect you post news and information in a timely fashion, like on dayly basis.
I think we'd all love to read more blog more often, but not so long ago there was no blog at all. Perhaps we should appreciate the blog that's produced instead of complaining that it's not enough.
I for one would like to thank whoever it is who produces the blog. They are probably overworked and underpaid as it is, and it's nice to see these behind-the-scenes things whenever they are available.
to the fifth post: stop making excuses for mediocre work. the fans deserve better. they have been on a publicity blitz for a year now to garner interest in their team. They now have it. But they are dropping the ball on getting quality, up-to-date, inside information to the fans they seek.
This blog any publishes good comments or ok ones and look at when we lost in week 1 nothing come on we check the darn thing because we love our team win or lose. So we want to read things about them no matter what. How about things on practice for the week what have they been doing. Just the normal stuff they do that we do not know. Love the blog but I have had more than one comment not posted.
To the sixth post: Classy. What a massive sense of entitlement you have. Stop complaining and enjoy a feature that many fans don't get from their club. Or perhaps you should support a team that has the resources to employ a full-time blogger.
Remember what was available before (nothing!) and look at this as a bonus and not something to moan about.
