Going Behind The Scenes, Err, Net

The team held a light practice at The Home Depot Center today before departing for Houston. Just because it was light, however, doesn't mean it wasn't competitive.

After the training session, the guys broke up into three groups for a round of soccer horseshoes.

Even young Tristan Bowen got into the mix.

The most competitive competition was the one with the veterans, where Dave Sarachan was the unofficial official.

Earlier in the day, Josh Saunders got some work in on corner kicks...

And Chris Klein on free kicks...

As the team walked off the field, reigning Goal-of-the-Week-winner Brandon McDonald took a ball and placed it on the PK mark. Soon a lot of the players were taking PK practice, but with equipment manager Raul Vargas as the goalkeeper.

Wanting to provide his teammates with a tougher challenge, Josh Wicks jumped in and faced off against McDonald. Who won?

McDonald is just en fuego this week.

We caught up with Bruce, Edson Buddle and the aforementioned McDonald before they went to the airport. Here's some of what they had to say.

Great practice pics. Appreicate them. Wishing all the best for the LA Galaxy team to come away from Houston with much needed, hopeful, valuable three points. At this point, there is no other option but to win the rest of the two games left. There really is no lee-way / no room! LLA Galaxy team has to battle all 90+ minutes and keep stopping their advances and break-outs. Every player has to play very hard, and very smart. Somehow, our team has to keep immense, relentless pressure!
