And We're Off

A point is needed tonight and a win would help a whole lot more as the Galaxy are into the final stretch of the 2008 season, with three games to go. The first of those is underway now against the Rapids.

Here is the lineup that Bruce is going with today.

-------------Buddle-------Gordon-------------

Lewis--------------Jordan----------------Klein

--------------Franchino----Vagenas-------------

-------Vanney-----Roberts-----Franklin--------

--------------------Saunders--------------------

Subs: Wicks, Valentin, Randolph, Pires, McDonald, Sesay, Donovan.

We were getting taken down on the right side. Klein and Vagenas could not track back hard enough & fast enough to counter Colin Clarke, Cory Gibbs, and Nick LaBrocca. Of course, those players for Colorado are younger; but, Colorado knew that they could exploit us from that side. Interesting choice of line-up from Bruce; a 3-5-2... I wasn't sure that would work; not with our defensive having been so porous and unconcentrated. But, it seems like all of the instructions, tapes, lessons, and yelling from all of the coaches finally are starting to take root. May be? I hope?

Anyone know if Eduardo Dominguez is ever coming back? Where is Jazic? He was not called up for Canada.

Eduardo Dominguez is back from Argentina. He is here in LA. He showed up to the reserve game played @ 7:30 pm at the Track & Field Stadium after the scheduled MLS match. He was not there as an available sub for the MLS match. For the reserve match he was not in playing attire. He sat there and watched the reserve game. He didn't talk to anyone. And no one really talked to him. So, my guess - he will be gone after this season ends as part of a trade. Ante Jazic was not there yesterday (not for the MLS match and not for the reserve game). My guess, he wanted to be with the Canadian nat'l team for their match against Honduras. Alvaro Pires did play during the reserve game. At the reserve game, all of the youngsters put up a good, hard-willed battle. It was chippy, there was hard challenges and shoves. Josh tudela even got a yellow. I believe the final score was 0 - 1 against us. Not for a lack of trying nor battling - but, because, it was an unfortunate bounce off of the final defensive player from a free kick put in by Colorado. And, yes, Slippery Steve was at goal!
