Galaxy U-20's Beat Chicago, Advance to Final

With the Galaxy first team set to play the Chicago Fire this afternoon, the Galaxy U-20's did what the first team will aim to do by defeating the Chicago Fire U-20's in the USL Super-20 League Semifinals. After winning Group C, the Galaxy U-20's beat Chicago 2-1 to hand the Fire their first loss of the season and advance to the Super-20 Final against the Columbus Crew Juniors.

Evan Raynr gave the Galaxy a 1-0 lead early in the semifinal before the Fire equalized midway through the second half to send the game to extra time. Late in the first half of extra time, Mark Alvarez scored the winner, firing a shot that caromed off the crossbar and into the net to give the Galaxy a 2-1 victory.

After losing their first game of the season, the Galaxy are now unbeaten in their last 13 games heading into today's Final.
