Galaxy Add Josh Saunders

A familiar face was back with the Galaxy today as the club signed goalkeeper Josh Saunders on loan from the Miami FC Blues of the USL First Division. Saunders, who played for the Galaxy in 2005 and 2006, appeared in 27 games for Miami this season, keeping 13 clean sheets. However, with his team all but eliminated from postseason contention, Miami agreed to loan him to the Galaxy, who are still without injured goalkeepers Steve Cronin and Charles Alamo.
In order to make room on the senior roster for Saunders, Ely Allen was moved to the Developmental Roster, taking the spot that was vacated when Charles Alamo was moved to the Season Ending Injury list.

With Saunders in the mix, Mike Graczyk did not travel to Kansas City for tomorrow's game.

Hey Josh... Welcome back to LAG... We can use all the energy, power, confidence, and pushing you can provide. I am hoping that Josh Wicks is learning, and training very hard. He did say with each full 90 minute game he feels more in tune, more quicker, more sharper. I really hope that's the case. Honestly, folks... I'm still not sure about how much Troy is improving or not. I still think Troy has much more to work on and learn. He's a good age for the position and he's played in Central Defense before... but, I need to really be convinced that he has the will, the full concentration, the power, the alertness, and the communication skills to stay a solid starting player for that position. Sean - I have no problems with... He's very alert, attentive, and works very hard to stay in the starting 11. It's difficult for Chris to maintain his positioning in the right back position. He keeps wanting to come forward and be involved in the attacking. Chris - no one doubts your work-rate and involvement in the games and on the field... but, many at times - you leave your area so exposed! Let Central Midfielders do more work in the attacking to help out David and Eddie... The back four needs to stay solid, composed, quick, and very much tight!
