Passing with Flying Colors

The Galaxy players completed their physicals and testing today, passing with flying colors. Here are a few shots of players getting checked out by our team of doctor's led by new Team Physcian Dr. Bert Mandelbaum. Defener Troy Roberts (Pictured above) has his knee examined by one of the Docs.

Forward Edson Buddle, who is excited about his first full season with the Galaxy after being acquired mid-season last year, chats with one of the new Docs.

Finally, Supplemental Draft Pick and goalkeeper Charles Alamo (Pictured above left) is the only goalkeeper in camp with Steve Cronin in the USA camp and MLS SuperDraft pick Matt Allen signing overseas. Rumor has it that Alamo may have quit his job in New Orleans the day after learning that he was chosen by the club. He then spent the next two days driving straight to LA. Looks like it may pay off by getting here on time. We hope to catch up with Alamo and find what really happened and maybe even show you his whole face.

I am hoping... I am really, really hoping that ALL of the players stay physically fit, healthy, and ready for a full 90 minutes of MLS play. It just cannot be a repeat of last year - with all of those injuries. The players must be physically fit and trained and warmed up... but, they cannot be tossed into playing multiple back-to-back games. NO!

There has to be at the very least three, preferably four days in between consecutive games. We cannot expect Landon Donovan, Carlos Ruiz, David Beckham, Chris Klein, Abel Xavier, and Mike Randolph to be used over and over again. I hope that does not happen.

To all of the LA Galaxy players - welcome back... We have REALLY missed our terrific LA Galaxy these past several months... We are all waiting to see each and every one of you play on the field at the HDC. Play smart... Play well... Play w/ gusto and brilliance!

Thanks for the updates. Hopefully with a more relaxed schedule we can stay healthy this year. That was a definite killer for us last year.
