Two Days to Go

The announcement was made on Monday, but it wasn't until today that David talked to the media about going on loan to AC Milan. Bruce Arena and the rest of the team, however, remained focused on Sunday's winner-take-all playoff game against Chivas USA.

The media tried to talk to the players about the loan agreement, but the guys weren't having any of it. "Let's talk about Chivas today," was what team captain Landon Donovan said.

With less than 48 hours to kickoff, the Galaxy were hard at work getting ready for the return leg of the Western Conference Semifinals.

Below are photos from today's training session, after the photos is audio of David and Landon with the media...

Here's what David and Landon has to say after training.

Finally, yesterday, the 2010 Miss LA Galaxy Court met with the media. They woke up early for an appearance on Univision's morning followed by a call to The Block Radio, an in-studio interview with ESPN Deportes Radio's morning show, LA Maquina Deportiva and in person interviews with Telemundo and KIIS-FM.

The day concluded with a "friendly" game of 4v4 against a team of Univision employees. While things didn't get this ulgy, both teams were playing hard. Sporting their "Go for Gold" T-Shirts, Team MLAG jumped out to a 3-0 halftime lead and held on for the victory.

Watch the highlight this Saturday night on Univision's weekend sports show, Acción Deportiva, at 11:15 p.m.

As I see things, Chivas has the edge in their second confrontation with the Galaxy. This view is based on the selection of the referee (RS), who has not been kind to the Galaxy in the past (Beckham received a red card from him early in the Seattle match). He has also been critical of the HC/GM. Incidentally,he also hands out copious numbers of yellow cards (and a red card) usually in equal numbers to both teams.
