Wednesday Wrap-Up

We caught up with a few of the guys after Sunday's win and at training on Tuesday to talk about the historical significance of the win over Chivas USA and the challenges that will be posed by the Dynamo on Friday.

As you all already know, Bruce Arena was named the MLS Coach of the Year earlier this morning. Tomorrow we will find out if Omar has earned the MLS Rookie of the Year award.

Sticking with the awards theme, the finalists for Goal of the Year and Save of the Year were cut down to the top 10 in each category today, with the Galaxy taking 20% of the final 10 spots. Alecko's first half wonder-goal at Giants Stadium qualified for the final 10, as did Landon's Goal of the Week winner at New England from early August. Click here to vote for Alecko or Landon, while also remembering Eddie's goal against Columbus, as well as the three Donovan Ricketts saves and the one from Josh Saunders, which were nominated for the Save of the Year award but did not make the final round of voting.

Finally, on Tuesday afternoon, Bruce and Landon, and the Houston Dynamo's Dominic Kinnear and Brian Ching participated in a conference call with the national media to preview Friday night's game. Take a listen.

Back with more in a bit.
