Omar Gonzalez Named MLS Rookie of the Year

It was two awards in two days for the Galaxy as Omar Gonzalez was named the 2009 MLS Rookie of the Year this afternoon.

Gonzalez was the only Galaxy player to appear in all 30 of the club's games this season, setting club records for games started and minutes played by a Galaxy rookie. You can read more about Omar and his accomplishments here and here, and be sure to check back in this space later on for some words from the man himself.

Until that time, join us in congratulating Omar, the 2009 MLS Rookie of the Year.

Congrats, Omar... you've worked very hard, been patient, receptive, and stuck it out to learn from experienced players. Hope that all of the youngsters in this team are always ready, willing, and capable of doing that throughout their playing careers. I really hope AJ, Alecko, Stefani, David, and Sir DON are all recovering well. Wish our guys the very best in clamining the Western Conf Title. Here's to CRUSHING the Orange Menace!
