On the Way to San Jose

Well, not quite yet, but we're getting close.

The Galaxy has one more day of training before we take an afternoon flight up to No-Cal to face our longtime rivals, the Earthquakes. We were able to catch up with Landon, David and Ruud after practice to see what they had to say about what's been going on around the HDC, playing San Jose and the team's performance in Dallas.

That laughter you heard in the background of David's audio is Eduardo, Fish and Pires playing a juggling game, that is equal parts juggling and the ability to listen.

It starts with the players saying how many times they will juggle before passing it on to someone else. If you aren't able to control the ball, or juggle it too few or too many times, your the loser and the others get to give a quick, but painful slap on the back of the leg. If you don't understand what we're talking about, be sure to tune in to Galaxy Deportivo on Saturday at 6 p.m. on KWHY-22.

Here is Eduardo speaking with the Deportivo crew after his game.

Here is Ruud talking with the media, as well as what he had to say...

Here is Landon...

And lastly, here is what David had to say before he went it to watch some of the X Games, which as you can see from the photo below, are at The HDC this weekend...

If you want to see action like what you see above, come on out to The HDC this weekend for X Games 14, just make sure that you're home on time to catch Sunday afternoon's game against the Earthquakes!

Not so sly cross promotion for the x-games... thanks charles for the info. I see what this blog is and I guess it won't be anything more than a mouthpiece for the organization. So I will take it for what it is, even though it could be much better! Anyway, good interviews, thank you "la galaxy" for posting them. It's painful to hear the leaders of the team basically say they didn't try hard the last game. It's hard to cheer for a team that doesn't give 100%.

Thanks for these pics and sound-bytes from Ruud, Landon, and David. It is important and critical to know that all three of them thought the same thing about LA Galaxy's performance against FC Dallas. That mainly it was absolutely deplorable and nasty. And, that many of the LA Galaxy's members were not fully concentrated on that game... There is a distinct difference in the professionalism and experience of David, Landon, and Ruud vs. some of our team's thoughts, expectations, and performances. But, repeatedly - I am going to say this... we MUST win decidedly adn convincingly against MLS Eastern Conf teams: New England Revs, Columbus Crew, and DC United. Without that - our standing is only superficial... and, there is no firm belief and trust that we are a better, winning team! Honestly, I think it's going to take several miracles and obvious mistakes on San Jose's part for us to win this coming game... Our performances in Away games in the afternoon time-frames have been awful! Honestly, San Jose has great attacking options now than ever before; plus, they've always had a good, solid defensive line!

X-Games? One of the reasons why the field at HDC looks crappy and damaged.

Jorge is right. Each successive year the field seems to be maintained less well than the year before. So much for soccer-specific stadiums.

Again listening tot he audio from Ruud, Landon, and David - I do appreciate their recognition and candor in the shockingly awful performance last game against FC Dallas. But the fact of the matter is that there needs to 11 active, charging, energetic, extremely competitive & alert players on the pitch during game time, as well as 6 or 7 eagerly waiting, charged up, warmed & ready players on the subs-bench! This team has to believe, forcefully show, adn keep on showing that they want to be winners!!! I think there are a few players that are leaving all the hard work to just David, Landon, Chris, and Edson. That is NOT right!
Please - I beg that this team watches the video of today's MLS game at Robertson Stadium of Houston vs. Columbus. Coach Kinnear was hot as an atom bomb, red-in-the-face, yelling, cursing, and nailing it into the his players on the pitch... and, the most incredible part... while Houston is winning and up 2 - 0 against Columbus. This is a coach, a team, a organization that absolutely, convincingly gives it their all... and, they absolutely hate losing!!!
Now have our players take a good long look and stare at the mirrors - I challenge them to even see an ioda of what Coach Kinnear expects from each of his players.
Really Galaxy management - things need to desparately change and be put into motion fast... otherwise, we will definitely lose our foothold in the standings - and, fall so far behind. Come on! Grow some huge pair of balls - and, fight... fight to win... and to stay at top of standings!!!

The Home Depot Center is supposed to be the crown jewel of the MLS. Instead the grass has looked like a horrible patchwork this season.

Now with the XGames... a worthless exhibition of mouth breathers, the grasss will be destroyed completely.

Yes anonymous, THATS THE IDEA! Now we can get a new field in there. Of course, it will be sod, so who knows if it will take. Charles, couldn't agree more, there is something missing from this team when we hear the so-called leaders of the team at a loss as to how bad they're playing. Neither Donovan nor Beckham seem like vocal leaders and that's what we may need. Oh well.
