On Friday, the Galaxy completed their preparations for tomorrow’s match against the Columbus Crew with a training session at Obetz Training Center. The coaching staff took the players through a long warm up and stretch to make sure that everyone was properly loose following a day of travel on Thursday.
Next, the player went through series of passing drills to further loosen up and work on their sharpness at the same time. It was then on to positional work on both the defensive and offensive sides followed by a run through of the set plays.
To wrap things up the players worked on their own for the last ten minutes. Despite the heat and humidity it was a good training session for the team.
Here are a few comments from head coach Bruce Arena, who looks ahead to the matchup including a comparison between the Crew's Robin Fraser-Chad Marshall combo from about five years ago to the Gregg Berhalter-Omar Gonzalez combo with the Galaxy. We also caught up with Clint Mathis, Mike Magee and AJ DeLaGarza to get their thoughts on tomorrow’s matchup of unbeatens.

Thanks very much for the training updates and PICS! Missed these updates. Wish our players the very best tomorrow against Columbus... it won't be easy - but, I have faith in our players... I just want them to play intense with lots of guts and focus... and, put away the goals that come across when those opportunities arise. My hope is that enough time is being spent on solidyifying passing, posession, and movement of the ball across field positions fast - using length, as well as the width of the field.
Good luck also to USA tomorrow - Go USMNT - Landon and Edson!!!
