Notes:
• With the draw, the Galaxy are now 4-0-1 on the season, giving them 13 points. They remain alone in first place in the Western Conference, three points ahead of second place Colorado, who defeated New England 2-1 earlier in the day.
• Bruce Arena made one change to the team that defeated Real Salt Lake last Saturday at The Home Depot Center. Gregg Berhalter made his first appearance of the season for the Galaxy, replacing the injured Sean Franklin. Berhalter played in central defense, moving A.J. DeLaGarza to right back where he spent most of the 2009 season.
• In addition to Franklin, the Galaxy were also without Dema Kovalenko, Leonardo, Eddie Lewis and Clint Mathis who all missed the game because of injury.
• For the first time this season, the Galaxy did not score in the first half.
• The Galaxy recorded a shutout for the fourth time in five games this season.
• Donovan Ricketts made a season-high six saves on the night.
• The Galaxy allowed a season-high six shots on goal. They had not allowed more than three shots on goal in any of their first four games of the season.
• Tonight’s game was the Galaxy’s first 0-0 draw since October 18, 2009 when they played to a 0-0 draw at Houston.
• Chris Klein made his 2010 debut, replacing Juninho in the 75th minute.
• Edson Buddle did not score in the game, snapping his streak of four consecutive games with a goal.
• Buddle remains the only player on the Galaxy with a goal this season.
• The attendance for today’s game was 10,045.
• The Galaxy are back in action next Saturday night when they host the expansion Philadelphia Union for the first time ever at The Home Depot Center. The game kicks off at 7:30 p.m. (PT) and can be seen live on FOX Sports West starting with the Galaxy Live pregame show at 7 p.m. AM 570 and ESPN Deportes Radio 1330 AM will broadcast the game live on the radio in English and Spanish respectively, starting with their pregame shows at 7 p.m.
