Meeting the Media

Bruce Arena, Landon Donovan and Stefani Miglioranzi all met with the media here in Columbus today ahead of tomorrow night's game.

Unfortunately, Bruce was forced to rule David Beckham out of Saturday's game through injury but he did say that he expects him to be ready for next Friday's game against Chicago.

Here is the entirity of what he had to say, as well as Landon and Stefani's responses.

Noooo. David can't be out. This is the first time i actually get to see the Galaxy play and he is out. At least Landon is playing, he is my favorite player.

As I see things, the galaxy faces another loss tomorrow night. The historic loss of two weeks ago was reversed one week ago, but only because David Beckham excelled on the field. With him being absent tomorrow, and no comparable replacement being at hand, the Columbus Crew have the advantage. The Crew appear to be a more seasoned team, and have another advantage in that they have won every home game this season. Unless the Crew have an "off" day, or unless the galaxy have extraordinary luck, the Crew should have no trouble winning.

I don't want to even think about the score outcome, even before any of us even get a chance to see the players on the field playing in Crew Stadium. Yes, it is a "bummer" that David could not make this trip. And, yes, when David is on his game, and, he is healthy, and the he's fired up - our offensive spark & creativity just lights up. However, I want to keep the trust and the faith in the rest of our guys. It will not be a goal scoring fest on our part, but, it still can be a phenomenal showing of strength, will, determination, and power form the rest of the team if they can pu their imprint on the game and dominate.
Yes, Anonymous... Columbus Crew is an overall better team (definitely, along the flanks); but, it's quite possible our LA Galaxy with enough guts, pressure, and relentless persistence, can come away from there as victors - remember, they just finished playing a Wednesday CONCACAF Champions League match against Cruz Azul.
