Donovan Earns Assist in Everton Debut

LA Galaxy captain Landon Donovan started his 10-week loan with Everton FC of the EPL today, starting and playing 68 minutes in a 2-2 draw against Arsenal. Donovan wasted no time earning his first assist off of a cornerkick that was headed in by Leon Osman for an early 1-0 advantage. Sadly, I wasn't able to see the game (no Setanta) but I saw the highlight vid of the corner - it was a beautiful kick, well done Landon!

Very pleased to see he did well in his debut - glad Moyes gave him the start and that he got to take the CK. Looking forward to more!

Watched the game this morning-- Everton had this one. Landon looked real good IMO. He was a little slow on some of his (reads) runs--but that is to be expected when you only have 5 training days with the club. Bad weather conditions (field looked bad with 10min left), and against a top 5 club in the EPL. The English announcers were speaking highly of him--even making jokes ("Donovan from SUNNY Los Angeles"). Very proud of our guy--hope they televise every Everton game! ESPN2 has one on schedule, and FSC has 2 during his loan. I hope the networks pick more up...
