Rapid Preparations

After playing a game on Thursday and flying back to LA on Friday, the Galaxy were back at The Home Depot Center training fields the last two days getting ready for Saturday's game against the Colorado Rapids.

A win against Colorado will clinch Supporters' Shield, which goes to the team with the best regular season record, and gives the Galaxy home field advantage throughout the playoffs. Additionally, by winning the Supporters' Shield, the Galaxy would receive an automatic berth into Group Play of next year's CONCACAF Champions League, as opposed to having to play a pair of Preliminary Round games like they did this season.
The Galaxy have claimed the Supporters' Shield two times in their history, 1998 and 2002.

For a more detailed breakdown of how the Galaxy can clinch all of the above, as well as other notes about the club, take a look at the Weekly Update.

After the sessions, we caught up with Bruce and a few of the players to recap last Thursdays win in Philly and look ahead to Saturday's game here at The Home Depot Center.

Here's what they had to say...

Omar Gonzalez...

Sean Franklin...

Truly, I do hope the LAG team (all of the players that have stayed with this team and put in the hard work, effort, and time on field) will get a huge, outright victory this Saturday and clinch Supporters Shield. It's gonna come down to mastery, pure concentration, marking, and cutting down on mistakes... Communication and Confidence, team! Go LA Galaxy!
