• Bruce Arena made one change to the team that beat New England 2-1 in their last weekend. Chris Klein returned to the lineup in place of Landon Donovan who entered the game at the half despite suffering from the flu.
• The Galaxy were without four players, with Edson Buddle, Alecko Eskandarian, Sean Franklin, and Julian Valentin all missing the game through injury.
• David Beckham’s red card in the 17th minute was his first red card in his MLS career. He will now miss Wednesday night’s game in Chicago through suspension.
• Seattle’s goal in the 22nd minute is only the 10th goal the Galaxy defense has allowed in the first half. The last time they allowed a first half goal was on July 25 when the Galaxy came back to tie Kansas City, 1-1, at CommunityAmerica Ballpark.
• Donovan entered the game at halftime for Stefani Miglioranzi. It was just the 15th time in his MLS career that he entered the game as a substitute and sixth as a member of the Galaxy.
• The loss snaps the Galaxy’s six game unbeaten streak. It is their first loss since a 2-1 loss at San Jose on June 20.
• The Galaxy were shutout for the first time since a 2-0 loss at home to Real Salt Lake on June 13.
• Eddie Lewis was sent off in the 79th minute. It was his second red card of the season. He will now miss Wednesday night’s game at Chicago.
• The Galaxy have now had two players sent off in a game twice this season. Gregg Berhalter and Alan Gordon were both sent off in the 0-0 draw with Chivas USA on April 11.
• Beckham and Lewis’ red cards were the sixth and seventh red cards against the Galaxy this season.
• Former Galaxy defender Tyrone Marshall was sent off for Seattle in the 76th minute after picking up two yellow cards.
• Chris Klein started the game on the right side of midfield, stretching his MLS record consecutive games played streak to 136.
• The attendance for today’s game was 20,162.
• The Galaxy are back in action on Wednesday, August 19 when they travel to play the Chicago Fire at Toyota Park at 6 p.m. (PT) in a game that can be seen live on ESPN2 and ESPN Deportes.

1) I am very proud of the effort and guts this team came out to play with, tonight. Thanks for showing to all who watched and attended that you players were not going to hang your heads, and give up. Thanks for showing us that you guys still had passion and fight inside of you.
2) This game was decided and going south, the moment Ricardo Salazar (Main Ref) decided to be the lone sheriff on the field tonight. He might as well wore the sheriff's badge and had two gun-belts and a Winchester. I absolutely detest the fact that USSF and MLS have no will, urgency, and just plain guts to get some of these "clowns in orange and yellow" off of the professional league for good. WOW, it was another atrocious, horrid night of crappy officiating. I'm at least glad that some of the fans took it upon themselves to get up out of their seats and send him a resounding "BOOOOOO". But, it cannot stop there - seriously, the LA Galaxy needs to file formal appeals and complaints. Come on this has got to stop!!! The game was ripped out of the control of players and the ball. Really, many MLS teams have faced it over and over.
3) I know we lost 0 - 2. I'm not so upset about the loss, but more so the fact that on that second goal that Montero swung around and put in - our guys were BALL-WATCHING! I know it happens - but, come on - at a set-piece or corner kick... I just lost it after that. Man, I was cursing tonight.
4) So, now we go away for a mid-week game in THREE DAYS time to face another TOUGH team... we don't have David, no Eddie, no Edson, and probably no Alecko either. We're down-right scre#$% !!! There's very, very little chance we're gonna come out good the next game. I knew this was going to be tough, nasty game. I tell ya, Sigi's curse always finds a way to bite us in the tender areas, and give it gangrene.
5) Please, Head Coach Bruce and Dave - please work with our youngsters to catch their mistakes and make them more ready... We're gonna need Bryan, Kyle, Leo, and Sean.
6) Once again, I saw Alan limping off the field... this time worse than last game. If we lose him... I can't think about it.

I'm gonna burn that ref's house down. Terrible terrible officiating. WHY do they always stick it to us at home? The best refs are near invisible and this guy was a joke. I wish I was there, I wouldve probably been escorted out due to the graphicness of the verbal abuse coming his way. Other than that and us ball watching, I think we did ok. I was really hoping we would be disciplined enough to keep possession and at least come out with a tie

yeah, yeah, yeah the ref was bad but we played our worst game of the season.

David's red card was well earned and Lewis earned his red for stupidity more than anything else. Ironic that he said they should keep their heads at the half time interview.

Bad time for the defense to take the night off. And give some credit to the Flounders for actually some good soccer in stretches.

Bruce's line up was extremely slow. Take Landon out and any team can mark the rest out of the game.

Why isn't Dema playing? Why isn't Brian given more time? Put a face mask on Alecko and get him out there in Chicago.

at least now with eddie and david out we can try an experimental lineup. alecko with a facemask and gordon up front, johnson magee donovan and dema diamond in the middle in the middle. berhalter..........oh berhalter.....=/

I watched the game in full, probly the worse showing of the year, and some bad indv.play. I won't harp since this is a first,we just need to regroup and come to play WED / CHICAGO. We looked very tired against the Sounders, real tired. Berhalter, now I see why he's usally grabbing someone's jersey,if he dosen't,they run by him with ease, the point I hate about it is he gives up on the play when he's beat.TD played so so, he was beat a few times also, but he brought what he could. If this was AJ's bad game for the year, I'll take it, he played tired also,he didn't have his burst of speed,so this was his gimmie game before I get real critical. As I stated, the whole team looked tired for whatever reason,so let's reqroup and bring our A GAME to the windy city. GO GALAXY
