As we told you yesterday, the Galaxy players and staff attended an exclusive event called adiCouture last night here in Auckland. adiCouture was a fashion show and auction which featured some incredible adidas inspired outfits as well as a series of unbelievable auction items, including the big winner on the night, a signed photo of the President-Elect Barrack Obama along with an official seal of the President of the United States, a unit that sold for nearly 20,000 dollars (NZ).
All money raised from the event went directly to a local charity called KidsCan Stand Tall, which is dedicated to meeting the basic physical needs of financially disadvantaged children, levelling the playing field for them so they have the chance to reach their full potential.
Keeping with the theme of supporting children, the club has invited nearly 10,000 school children to come out to training this afternoon at Mt. Smart Stadium. We hosted a similar event in Wellington last year, and the success of that has led us to repeat the performance here today.
