Notes:
· With the draw, the Galaxy are now 1-1-5 on the season, leaving them tied with Houston for fifth place in the Western Conference with eight points. Both teams are two points behind Real Salt Lake for fourth place in the conference and three points ahead of seventh place San Jose.
· Galaxy head coach Bruce Arena made one changes to his lineup from the 1-0 win over New York on Saturday with Stefani Miglioranzi returning to the lineup in place of Josh Tudela. Tudela was available off the bench but did not play.
· The Galaxy were without Leonard Griffin and Yohance Marshall, who are both on the club’s Disabled List and not eligible for selection. Griffin is eligible to return to duty on Sunday in Seattle while Marshall is out until at least the home game against Kansas City in May 30.
· Tonight’s game was the Galaxy’s first-ever game at Rio Tinto Stadium, making it the 29th different stadium that the club has played an MLS game in during their history. With the draw, the Galaxy are now 13-13-3 all-time in their first-ever game at a new stadium. LA last won their first game in a new stadium on June 14, 2008 at McAfee Coliseum in Oakland when Edson Buddle scored three times in a 3-0 Galaxy win over the San Jose Earthquakes.
· Landon Donovan’s goal was his fifth of the season, leaving him tied for the most in MLS this year.
· Mike Magee’s goal was the first of his Galaxy career.
· Magee’s goal was the first Galaxy goal this season that Landon Donovan had not scored or assisted on. He had factored in each of the club’s first eight goals of the season.
· With Robbie Findley’s first half goal for Real Salt Lake, the Galaxy have now fallen behind 1-0 in five of their seven games this season, including all three road games. However, LA has come back to earn a draw in four of those games.
· With the draw, Donovan Ricketts remains unbeaten in his MLS career. He now has a 1-0-4 record for LA this season.
· Despite allowing two goals in a game for the first time this season, Ricketts remains in third place in MLS with a 0.80 goals against average.
· The Galaxy remain unbeaten on the road this season with a 0-0-3 record. LA and the Chicago Fire are the only two teams in MLS not to have suffered a defeat on the road in 2009.
· After collecting six yellow cards and three red cards in the first four games of the season, the Galaxy have now played three straight games without being issued a card.
· The attendance for today’s game was 16,155.
· The Galaxy are back in action on Sunday when they head north for their fist-ever league match against the Seattle Sounders FC at Qwest Field. That game kicks off at 12 p.m. and can be seen live on both FS West and Telefutura.

good job guys first team to get points at RSL
...And once again Arena will be pleased with the performance. Ruud Gullit's Galaxy was never this painful to watch. The Galaxy offense is bad, really bad.
Well another tie what a surprise! Franklin lost more balls than anyone on the field put together. He was good last season I dont know what happened! Magee was amazing! Donovan looked lazy as well as Gonzales and Lewis! Imagine that they can score when they push players up! And here I was thinking they could only score on PKs! Landon needs to get up on free kicks and corners since he is the only one on that team that knows how to use his head besides BJ. I wish the whole game was exciting and not just the last 5 minutes. Buddle how can you kick a shot over when you are 5 yards out with no one in front of you! The team needs alot of work!
That was pathetic.
I know there are a lot of Gordon and Klei haters that post here, and I don't understand it.
Klein; yeah, he's had a few really horrible attempts and his touch has not been what it has been in the past, but the guy has more heart and hustle on the field than everyone except maybe Jordan. He works harder than anyone on either side on any game.
Everyone has been clamoring for Buddle's return, while complaining about Gordon. Why? I've said it before and I'll say it again; I know priests with a softer first, second and third touch, than Buddle. The guy can't play a ball in traffic! He's never on-side, and he will never drop back past the half-way line to help out on defense.
The only difference between Gordon and Buddle, is that Gordon will try to stay on-side, will drop back to help out in the defensive half, and he is willing to sacrifice his body to make a play for either himself or FOR SOMEONE ELSE.
Why is Miserableanzi getting ANY playing time? Whatever he is doing to convince anyone that he destves it, let me quote Allen Iverson; "Its practice. Practice. Practice? It's not real.". This guy cannot complete a pass when it matters. Get rid of him.
Jordan, Ricketts, Klein, Dema and sometimes Donovan, sometimes Gordon, are the only ones that play like it matters.
Eddie lewis need to stop getting the free pass! He's old and it shows.
Well the ONLY good part about this game is that they didn't register a LOSS ... Back-Line looks real old and slow. Gonzales dosen't fall under the old comment, but he definetly is slow. If its not for those long legs of his, he'd of been beaten 3 times last night for goals. And whats wrong with franklin? 1 year wonder? As for LD, he might have 1 decent goal out of his 5 goals... PK's are basically a gimmie.
Mark Villa I absoutely agree that Klein has more heart and hustle on the field than everyone except maybe Jordan. He works harder than anyone on either side on any game. Thats what the team needs!!
Wow I cant believe you guys. LA goes on the road and picks up a solid point and this is what they get from their "fans"? Pathetic. New England lost 6-0 to RSL and LA ties them and all you people come on here to cry about Ruud Gullit and how bad our offense is? OK our offense is bad but we had to give up something for defence and now we actually arent the worst team in the league. And whoever said Pks are a gimmie, i would love to see you take one in that kind of pressure vs. a professional keeper. These comments disgust me.
Considering, what this team is capable of doing, yes this game and most of the last 6 have been poor pathetic efforts.
This is the fourth year of my season tix and seventh year of coming to games. Do I still have my season tix, yes! Will I renew for the seasons to come , yes! I am a fan, I work hard to afford my seats, and I demand more for my money. I buy at least one shirt a year, I fly the flag at my home, I show up to every game and lose my voice every time. I give all that I can, but it seems that no one on the field except, Klein, Jordan, Dema, Ricketts, Sometimes Gordo, maybe LD, is willing to do so. AEG has made bad decisions and allowed worse decisions to be made. Top to bottom, the organization has lost the plot. Now, I/WE need to demand that they find it.
My loyalty is unwavering, and that is why I am so upset.
Drew Carrey said it best when asked about Seattle's chances as an expansion team, he said; "We're not as much of an expansion team as L.A., we have a plan."
Where is our plan?
I hate to Gordon bash, but have you ever seen him turn a ball. He can't! He also cannot release the ball with only one touch. My family and I call him "two-touch". Buddle can turn the ball and release quickly, if need be. Keep in mind that with his injury, this is almost like pre-season for him.
I think the team has made strong progress from last year. And I cannot say enough about Ricketts. What an asset!!!
I'm not one for shooting my mouth off to spew out disappointments and insults just so that I can get it off my chest and cannot find the patience nor modes to vent in other constructive ways. That being said - Mark Villa has every right... I repeat, every right to voice his feelings, concerns, and comments regarding our team's (the LA Galaxy's performances from this past game against Real Salt Lake). I think many at times, it's so easy for people within a corporate organization to hide behind "smiles and suits" thinking that none of us would know any different. WRONG!!! Many of us who regularly come to games, religiuosly follow the LA Galaxy, and as Mark said, pay "hard-earned" money... year-after-year to take part in, evaluate, support, and learn from a sport and a club that we've grown to cherish. Why? Because, this club came from, showed, played with, and repeatedly displayed strong, emphatic, heart-felt, down-to-the-minute passionate soccer. For many years, this club had that. Sure, write me off as being nostalgic and as a "cry-me-a-river" pity-monger. Fine - I don't care about that. What many of us do care about is the absolute necessity for genuine, emphatic, quality-seeking, passionate soccer. And, that has to originate within the staff, the coaches, the trainers, and especially the players!!! Our team, our LA Galaxy, its fans, and its supporters should never be okay / nor appeased with mediocre, stale, lethargic, 7-men backline/shelled-up soccer. Yes, this club had a problem with defense for the past two years. All right, work on it with every game, get the tactics & corrections into line-up & formation... but, always play fluid, striking, moving, attacking soccer.
