The Galaxy defeated UCLA 4-0 this afternoon at The Home Depot Center in their first scrimmage of the 2010 preseason. Gregg Berhalter gave the Galaxy a 1-0 halftime lead thanks to an early penalty kick after Edson Buddle was brought down in the box.Halftime saw wholesale changes for LA and three more goals to seal the win. Eddie Lewis gave the Galaxy a 2-0 lead when his cross was deflected in for an own goal. Rookie midfielder Michael Stephens clinched the win with a pair of late goals against his former team.
Everyone on the team played at least 45 minutes, with Leonardo playing just more than an hour before being replaced in the middle by Sean Franklin, who played the first 45 minutes at right back, for the final 27 minutes.

ReplyDeleteWell then not good enough. They didn't encourage it, so I guess they didn't want us there. Maybe because they lost the game last year.
