Randolph Makes National Team Debut

Mike Randolph made his first appearance for the U.S. National Team at any level today when he came on as a second half substitute in the U.S. Under-23's 0-0 draw with China in Changsha. Randolph, who wore the #21 shirt, came on in the 74th minute, replacing Toronto FC defender Marvell Wynne.

We'll have a full conversation with Mike up on the blog later today as we get his views on what he feels like to be in his first-ever National Team camp.

Come on Ricky!

The fight is about to begin and we just wanted to wish Ricky Hatton the best of luck tonight in his fight with Floyd Mayweather. For those who don't know, Ricky attended a Galaxy game this Fall at The Home Depot Center, administering the coin toss prior to the game. Becks is in attendance at the MGM Grand and most of the boys are watching here in L.A., so come on Hitman!

Coming to a TV Near You

Fans here in North America were unable to see the games against Sydney and Wellington live on television, but they will soon be able to see them in their entirety.

Packed along with all the boots and balls and gear that we brought back from Down Under were the original broadcast feeds of both games and those have now been transfered over to Fox Soccer Channel who will show each of the games later this month.

The game against Sydney will be shown on Tuesday, December 11 at 8 p.m. while the game in Wellington will be aired eight days later on Wednesday, December 19 at 5 p.m.

This will give you, the fans, a chance to experience all the drama that we did first hand...and match it up against how we did over here with the Match Tracker.

Heading to Hawaii

Aloha Galaxy fans!

In the midst of the club's tour Down Under, wrapping up the 2007 season, MLS/SUM announced where the Galaxy would be opening the 2008 preseason campaign.

As runners-up in the 2007 SuperLiga, the Galaxy will join MLS Cup champion Houston, J League side Gamba Osaka, the winner of the Yamazaki Nabisco Cup, and a yet to be decided team from the Hyundai A-League in the inaugural Pan-Pacific Championship in Hawaii this February.

The Galaxy will open the tournament on February 20 when they take on Gamba Osaka at Aloha Stadium in Honolulu, with the winner of that game moving on to the Pan-Pacific Championship on Saturday, February 23 and the loser playing in the consolation game earlier that day.

Prior to the tournament being announced, we talked to Landon and Becks about heading to Hawaii. Check it out.

Wellington Press Conference

There was no rest for the Galaxy video crew in New Zealand as immediately after receiving the Maori welcome shown in the last post, it was on to a press conference at our hotel to preview the game against Wellington.

Ruud Gullit and David Beckham were in attendance at this one for the Galaxy as were their Phoenix counterparts Ricki Herbert and Ross Aloisi, as well as Wellington owner Terry Serepisos.

Welcome to New Zealand

Upon arriving in New Zealand last week, the Galaxy players and staff were treated to a traditional Maori welcoming at the airport.

Part of the ceremony involved everybody greeting the assembled dignitaries in the traditional means as shown by Chris Klein below...

For a longer look at the entire ceremony, check out this video.

Back Stateside

Following yesterday's day off, The LA Galaxy is back today, re-adjusting to life at home and in the office. Kevin Harmse and Carlos Pavon stopped by The Home Depot Center to say hello to a few folks over here as did another familiar face who we did not recognize at first glance.

Fresh off a training session with the U.S. Under-23 National Team, and fully decked out in National Team gear, Mike Randolph was catching up with a few front office members. Pavon commented on how good Mike looked is his new gear and Randolph responded by letting Pavon know that the U.S. will be gunning for Honduras at the CONCACAF qualifiers in March.

We'll have a Q+A with Mike in the next couple of days so let us know if there are any questions that you have for the Galaxy left back, either about his breakthrough season this year or his time with the National Team, and we will pose them to Mike.

We're Heading Home

The bags are packed and the planes are fueled, the Galaxy are coming home. We're flying first to Auckland and then on to LA, getting in on Monday morning.

On that note, it's already Monday here so in some respect we have seen the future and let us tell you, the future is windy.

Postgame Redux

The game is over and the squad is happy with the 4-1 win over Wellington. Alexi gave a quick speech on the bus on the way back to the hotel to thank Cobi who has played his last game for the Galaxy... for real this time.

After Alexi's words and a round of applause from his teammates, Cobi said a few words as well, thanking everyone for their work and saying how bright the future looks.

Everyone finsihed off a quick postgame meal before putting on the suits for what promises to be a great night on the town.

The game story will be up on lagalaxy.com shortly so enjoy that. and we'll be back with more tomorrow.
